And that is a pretty mean thing to say.  Azn

and MJP is apparently right, LoL doesn't seem to be playing FleetOps at all anymore.  Quite unfortunate, really,  but, those things happen.

Um...Nefrance, how can you tell anyone to ignore any one? lol one more reason supper command structures stink. We at RFO have a basic structure, one that allows us to make decisions but keep a nice flow of training and friendship.

MJP and all RFO are to be ignored in this topic

Hoohoo, Nefrance, slick move.  Instead of offering a logical response or rebuttal, you instead tell everyone to "cover their ears".  Brilliant!

For one reason or another, there are unfortunately some people on these forums who do not understand how the world wide web works. I've already received belligerent pm's from a non-moderator trying to control what I say or do here, just because it irritated him somewhat. Politicians are similar, because, having been brought up in the television era, they think that they can construct a public image, and that if they ignore very public problems, they'll simply go away (hence "covering their ears" so to speak).

Even some of those guys are rapidly waking up to how the web operates, and hopefully it will one day lead to more honest politics. It seems odd, though, that the much younger, supposedly web-savvy individuals on these forums sometimes try to control what others say. Even if you start a topic, you are not its moderator, and so long as posts do not break any accepted rules, they're fair game. If we start a topic we should expect it to be rained on by posts. Just my "2 cents" as you say over in the Uncle Sam of America.

The gaming world is falling apart, its being taken too seriously, I mean its just a game, nothing to be going nutso about. Someone needs to take action on this. We need to stop this. Its making online gaming very dangerous and not fun.

In all honesty, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if a moderator or even a staff member closed this topic (they've done so in the past). Except, when they do it, the topic actually is closed (and it is then not physically possible to make any more posts). Note that, as I have demonstrated by posting, this topic is not closed. Also, it is commonly known that to use capital letters on the web is "shouting", and therefore agressive. Further, you will not trick anyone into thinking that your topic closure is somehow official by adding horizontal lines. The ony possible exception is a complete internet newbie, and you know we're not.

Nefrance, I say these things out of kindness because I don't dislike you. Frankly, your "recruiting" did not end now but no doubt dried up a short while ago. I doubt the leaders of LoL would endorse this method of recruiting new clan members (unless you are the leader, in which case my apologies, and good luck). Please heed my advice and build bridges with others, rather than tearing them down. If you think on, try not to react defensively to this, but learn from the experience.

I would surely lose a small tear, the day THIS forum needs an *active* moderator a dev to play *more* attention to the threads. In those 2 years I'm registered here, I haven't seen THAT much locked threads. Yes there were the beef between ewm90 and the rest of *us*. So please, for the love of everything that is holy and unholy:: If you have personal issues discuss them via PM; I don't want to read your *dirty laundry*, so please humour an old man and duke that out either via game or PM. THANK YOU

The pm system only encourages greater hostility, and I've been at the sharp end of this, and I know of others who have. I believe in things being out in the open, "dirty laundry" and all. That way, nobody can play silly games, acting one way via pms, and putting on a front in the forums. Having said all that, I truly now wish a moderators would axe this one thread once and for all; on that I agree. That's the whole point, after all isn't it? Freedom, but not without limitations.

Why would they give it the axe now?  It's turned into a stirring philosophical thread that we can all stand to learn from.
