The Cloaking Generator you can see on pic 2 and the Research Station on pic 3 are indeed tilted. It's easy to do with the map editor.
So you might guess by now that neither the Cloaking Generator nor the Research Station were built.  Azn
They are usable map-objects for a special reason or in other words part of the background-story.

Thanks by the way for your comment about the shots! I hope the map itself will be as enjoyable as the pics seem to be. Smiley

I've never before seen a station given an axial tilt in A2 before.  Kudos for the superb pics!

As a small present to you I decided to upload this small 4-Player-map before my vacation. Again I hope you'll enjoy it! Thanks for your support and comments so far! You're a great audience

Rapture (4 Players)

Features:
  • An open battlefield
  • (No) Resources
  • Pressure
  • Rapture Wink

Your base is set. Your construction-ships head out and start building. You gather resources. You build a fleet. You move out. You crush your enemy.

This time it's different.
Experience some rapture - by surviving the fight for resources.

(I'd suggest to play against at least three opponents since it's quite easy to win against one opponent quite easy in the early stages of the game. The Dilithium-moon close to each starting-point was added for the AI since you basically need more Dilithium for small ships than Tritanium. Without this moon the map is more challenging for human players. It's just to give the AI a better chance since she has an absolutely inappropriate economy-management which makes her run out of resources quite fast if she's contained to the area around the starting-point.)

If you want a fast-paced map with lots of small battles - and you aren't afraid of destroyer-spam - you might like to give this one a try.

Good hunting!

hey Old Man, im going to be nice and let you in on a little secret since i modded FO a little bit when i had time and was doing my own race add on...

the AI can only see Dillithium moons... it can't see Tri as the Arnmada 2 engine doesn't understand that resource be default neither does the AI...

Secondly and this will spoil it for everyone... the AI doesn't actually aquire resources... its mining is completely fake... it just follows the build order its been given... it could have no moons and as long as its built its mining statiion it will continue to build the rest... i hope that makes sense?

Thanks for the information!
I didn't know that and now it's absolutely clear to my why these maps suck agains AI-players...
So I could also have left the starting-point-moons out of the map since they don't really have the effect they should have.
Uhm.. so.. maybe.. take the map... and fight against humans.
Hope you like it anyway somehow.
Thanks for clearing things up for me, redmanmark! Smiley

Sounds interesting. Smiley
I'm looking forward to it - whatever it will be - though it will take a while until I can check back here.

Old Man, I was wondering if you'd be willing to vindicate something for me.

I've always wanted to redo my map, Divided, for v3pr, but my map editor went5 kaput and isn't recognizing the F# key macros.

Would you be willing to do the map for me?  The original is here: http://www.fleetops.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,3/topic,2312.0/

If I recall, the dl count puts it as the most downloaded FO map ever... I'd have to check the count on the newer ones, though...

Hello all!

I'm sorry for being inactive such a long time. I didn't expect so much work to come.

I just wanted to tell you two things:
1. My map-projects are off the table until I really have time for them. I'm sorry for that.
2. I'm back and I will try to post more often again.

Good to be back. Hope you think the same  LOL  Wink

Hey, welcome back!  Sorry you have too much work, but I'm sure that we all hope that you'll be back to making maps soon enough. Cheesy

You know, the Rapture map reminds me of something I once did using a Yardwar map in Armada I... I set it to 'standard units' instead of 'map units' (I can't remember if I set it to free tech or not, though) and gave each player 10K Dil... It was actually pretty fun (I won that game, BTW), though it gives the Klingons a slight edge because their ships are slightly cheaper and the Borg a slight disadvantage because their ships are slightly more expensive...
