Gentle men and scholars of League of legends, I take pride in presenting you the very first declaration from RFO to another clan. Congratulations you’re at war. The time frame of said war is September 1st to the 30th our demands are as follows.
The removal of NeFrance as he has begun to irritate us and the addition of a perminate link to our site on your site.
In turn if we loose,
You will get some Graphics work from our Matthew J. Pulaskee.
Also a link from out site to your site.

Nothing like a good war to get the blood flowing, ey? Let the mayhem begin.

Let's see who will win.
Is there an option to join online-games as spectator?

What kind of war do you wage then?
RFO officially declared war. Why shouldn't there be spectators then? How else should they have done it?

Make it a fair competition.

You joined a clan, you knew that this could happen one day and now it happend. Either you are prepared for it and stand your ground or let this become ridiculous.
If you don't want to fight for something you should consider joining the civilians around here.

I think what he's getting at is that, if you make the decision to join a clan, then it's not too surprising if another clan declares war, whether in friendly competition or... not so friendly. What is more, unless all the clans have agreed on an official place (website, forum etc.) where it is acceptable to challenge another clan, then right here in the FO forum is fair game, especially because the game in question is actually fleet operations. I think here is a great place to build up the online FO community, since there are always non-members viewing the site, who might decide to sign up and download the game if they see there's multplayer stuff going on  cool

I was not sure if you actually meant me by throwing "WTF" in, Dan.
But Doc already made my point clear. Rather than talking about war I'd prefer to call it competition. Whatever.
I think this could get quite interesting if both sides remain calm and fair.

I say YES to spectators! and i even invite any one willing to join in the fight to join the RFO side, we are the more onorble clan, as we dont spam forums or IMs...NeFrance. Wars are for the Prestige and RFO will have it. may the best win.

I'd like to bring in the idea of some kind of ladder for the existing clans and those which will emerge.
They could be administrated as special-user and have a profile for themselves where diplomatic issues and all the stuff I can't even imagine could be noted.
As this here doesn't seem to lead anywhere right now I think lots of FO-Members will have a closer look at the battlefield in September and we all can turn elsewhere now.
Please don't let this get the main-topic on the FO-board please as the diplomatic issues are indeed affairs of the clans themselves.

The best will prevail! Anyway...
So say we all!

(I call for an Adama-Smiley  Btw where's our Admiral? Haven't seen him for.. months? )

Fine. Actually I came to the conclusion that my suggestion of a clan-ladder or whatever you would have liked to call it is a really bad idea after I've read through the above posted links.
There seem to be serious disagreements concerning the nature and purpose of clans.
As not everyone seems to share a common definition about that I'd like you all to discard my ideas concerning the integration of clans here.

Why is it always the same? Why do some people think FO deserves to be used as a puddle?
That's not what FO deserves! That's not what the staffs' work deserves! They are working very very hard to create a game which is based on community, not pure opposition.

The posts MJP linked to were not made here. I absolutely dislike the thought that this could happen one day though.

I'd like to quote from the Forum-rules:

  • Any kind of advertising about other mod, website or message board is not allowed. If you wish to advertise any other site, the only tolerated place for doing so is your signature, which you can edit within your profile.
  • Any flooding with useless content is strongly forbidden.
  • Posting stupid worthless polls is also counted as spamming and will be taken seriously.

Maybe this should also count for clans. If it is already intended to do that, please regard this a hint.

Really, it's a game. And it's a fantastic one!
Please do keep the forums clean and play Hoedown instead.

Maybe that's the point where the topic could be closed. Just as a suggestion.

I have to agree here. The FO forums are clearly more about a united community than a battle ground between clans. Also, if one clan takes the whole thing more seriously than another clan, then we'll never have agreement. It's important to remember that, ultimately, FO is just a game. It's great fun but it's not worth stressing over.  Wink
