Hi guys...
Hope someone can help with this

Armada 2 runs ok on XP pro however, the game begins to freeze when constructing any station, if there is an explosion or battle. These freezes are brief to start with, but when there are significant units in the game, the freezes get longer & longer. Quite frankly I'm ready to start laying mushroom clouds, so to speak.

I know its not my comp & I've loaded new drivers for the sound & vid cards.
Here are the specs...
AMD 1800XP (1.533MHz)
512MB ram
nVidia GeForce 64MB
SoundblasterLive!
DirectX 9.0b (all files/tests ok)
XP pro

The game also has the 1.1 patch. I've also disabled Norton AV, my firewall and all other non-essential progs from running in the background to no effect.

Hope someone has a solution - those w**kers at Activision certainly couldn't care less

TIA

Welcome to the forums!

Hm, have you installed Fleet Operations over an existing installation of STA2 or aplied any STA2 patch to it after its installation? If it is so, try installing it to a blank folder (the installer does all the work for you) and apply only Fleet Operations patches.

SoundblasterLive!
Do you experience strange slowdowns in other games too? Then the soundblaster live could be your problem, try to disable it in the device manager and pls make a test game (right - without sound) and tell me what happened. just an idea, but a point to start
