no you wouldnt lose parts of your own tech tree. besides the mixed tech you trade are hybrids of your own tech and your trading partner

each race gets one new ship from one combination, like the federation gets the miranda2 from dominion tech and the klingons get the edjen from federation tech. more details to come soon  |

They are already overpowered. They are the Borg  Nope, just kidding. I don't think they should get access to a complete techtree. One reason: Have you ever seen the Borg using something like vector-calculation? Of course we can imagine that this ability could make their targeting-process more efficient. But would they hit more than with an already 100 % hit-chance? The Borg are more advanced in a lot of things and they would simply have no use for some tech they would get with a whole techtree. I support the idea that they get something special out of it which gives them an advantage regarding the race they got the tech from. |
