Problems with balancing

Hey all, I'm not sure if this has been brought up to our attention before, but I personally think that FO has some problems with balancing.
Personally, I think that battleships are severely underpowered yet costly to build. It is much more efficient to simply mass-produce cruisers than to build a single battleship. Hell, for the Dominion, you can just build infinite numbers of A-20 Destroyers and win a game!
To put this into perspective, Think of a battle scenario between a V-20 Battleship and 4 A-20 Destroyers. The A-20s definitely win. If you have 4 shipyards, It would take mere seconds to build 4 A-20 Destroyers, whereas it would take forever to build even a single V-20.
To solve this issue, I thought of 2 ways.
1) Make Battleships much more powerful than they are now.
2) Or.. more interestingly, have Battleships with multi-targeting capabilities. Battleships are huge, huge ships with lots of weapons emplacements and I think that it would be completely unrealistic if only 1 or 2 weapons are in use in any sort of battle. Giving multi-targetting capabilities would not only be a lot more realistic, but it will also give a standing chance against smaller ships with larger numbers.

Hopefully this answers your question.... Optec announced in another thread that this will be remedied (hopefully to the extent that we all want) in the full v3... the link is
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Fleet mixing in V3
I would like to know more details, but for the moment I am satisfied
