In other news, THQ and Warhammer 40k would like to make the statement "WTF - ripping off us once wasn't bad enough?". This new version is nothing more than a desperate attempt to deal with the fact that Dawn of War is flipping the industry on its head.

I just got this from a another forum I viset

admin@diablo3.com"
to me

I know a lot of people are a bit bummed out because of the Starcraft 2 announcement, well there is still a LOT of hope with us.

We have known all along blizzard has a couple development teams and even if Diablo wasn't announced at the Blizzard World Wide. that the game was most likely still being made.

Well, of course blizzard wasn't going to announce Diablo in the starcraft capital of the world, but guess what, BlizzCon is coming in August.

There are a lot of rumors floating around and possible "leaks" from sources saying that a Diablo related announcement is coming at BlizzCon.

I'm going to give you a few links to follow to get your fill of information.

First is a link to an article from the new Co-webmaster of our sister site, MedievalDragon. It includes all the information pointing to Diablo 3 being made. You can use the information here in all your "Is Diablo 3 being made" fights. Also, if you have a Digg account, please digg the article.

Second, I would like to remind everyone to check out http://www.starcrafttwo.com our new Starcraft 2 site. Feel free to register on the forums there.

*/bump*

I can't believe I missed a joke like this!

Did you know that Starcraft was originally going to BE a Warhammer game, but that creative assembly said "no, thanks, but screw you anyway", leaving Blizzard out in the cold?  Blizzard, being smart, took what they had changed it (managing to make it far better than warhammer in the process), and released the greatest RTS of all time, leaving CA scratching their heads and basically wondering how they could be so stupid as to pass that chance up.  Jump ten years later to Dawn of War.  Neat game.  Good graphics.  However, the gameplay lacks.  It just isn't groundbreaking.  At all, really.  It lacks all the significance of the original Starcraft, and comparatively, the story sucks.  So yes, maybe Starcraft barrows from 40k.  But no, DoW is not a better game.  In the next ten years, I sincerely doubt it will garner the fame, following, or reputation Starcraft has.

Is there any crime in taking what you have and making it better?  You be the judge.  Seeing how Starcraft turned out, I'd say not.  And, as for my prediction, Starcraft 2 will blow DoW out of the water in gameplay, graphics, and story.

How's that for an opinion?
