A lot of talk on the boards about the borg, and maybe other races (unless I'm not reading the posts correctly)
but I only have access to the rommys, klinks, feds and dominion. Running 3.0 with the patch in instant action, so am I missing something? Or are they only playable in the beta 1 and two versions?

yes, the borg were playable in beta 1.0-2.0
they have been removed in v3 Preview Release that you are using right now. That's one of the reasons why it is a Preview Release, not the final version
