I don't know if this is something that happens between the SOD and the game engine, or just an odd mutation of Fleet Ops.

Any ship I set to Explore, be it tiny Scouts or giant V15's will scout a ring once, maybe twice, but as soon as it comes to an obstruction such as an asteroid belt or the edge of the map, it just starts sweeping back and forth over the same small area repeatedly. My unmodded Armada game's scouts explore and navigate obstructions just fine.

Has anyone else encountered this? It really puts a crimp in my tactics of using them to probe for the edge of enemy defenses without having to constantly re-command them. Sad

Yeah, I get that when I tell ships to go somewhere on the minimap and there's anything in the way, they get confused and ram it repeatedly (that's what it looks like, but not really ramming it Bug-style, of course).

The avatar is a tiny pic of a person in Oblivion imitating a racecar after being knocked on the head with a sword repeatedly, causing death and funny ragdoll physics.
It's funnier.
