Hi Guys, I installed PR 3.0 and 3.1 Patch last night. Game starts up, as in I get to the main menu screen. I try to start and instant action game, but I keep getting a "You need your own CD to play" error. huh As I was reading the error, I was thinking to myself "I do have my own CD." So, as I found my self dumbfounded and unable to load the game I didn't know what to do. I thought to my self, maybe I need to install the full game for it to work, even though I know it doesn't need the game installed. So I installed it, tried the mod again, and still nothing. I then browsed the forum here, and found a couple of similar/identical topics. Some didn't get anywhere and some suggested to try a no-cd patch. Tried that as well, but to no avail. At that point I said screw it and uninstalled the game. But now, I want to play it even more, can anyone tell me how to get passed this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Have you ever tried to install the original and launch a game on there? First check if this is a general problem on your system. Does installation of stock Armada 2 work fine? Then if the normal Armada 2 doesn't start the first time you do a sp game ensure that your CD has no heavy scratches on it or some dirt. Sometimes simply reinserting the cd rom helps.
If all works fine you can be sure that it's a Fleet Operations problem.
If that happend I'd try to do an image of your CD and try it again by using the image ( I hope you know how to use images?).
Also be sure to install the full FO setup. Do not choose the minimum version.

Yeah, I tried the image as well, but it produced the same error. I'll give it another try per your direction and see what happens.
