Redman mark was wondering if you can Manually select resolution through one of the config files in the Armada dir

cause he doesnt have 1600x1200 available to him and would like to use it

no, thats not possible through config file editing. only what is selectable in the armada 2 config screen is as armada checks if the chosen resolution is in this list before applying. if it isn't valid for armada the resolution gets reverted to 800x600x16.

what graphic card is used? a dxdiag log would help. also, is 1600x1200 selectable through windows display properties?

hmm that need trick worked only for Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Wink

I have another question related to this for Doc?
Did you increase the Texture Size for the new Models or so; I experience "huge" slowdowns with fed ships on the screen ; especially with the Akira Sad Is it possible to offer some sort of low-res Textures for v3 Final or so? I'm using a Geforce 5700 Sad(( or so with 256 megs

See its not me with the problem

i can play easily at 1600x1200x32 with my Radeon9600Pro 256mb

but RedManMark has the X800Xt and he wanted to know if he could go up from 1024x768 but he isnt able to change his resolution

and we both find it weird cause he has the better graphic card yet i get the better res?

Smoer

press Start, Program files, Startrek Armada2 Fleetops , FLeetops Launcher

Click advanced settings and decrease the texture size Smiley

hi there Doca Cola,

well i have an X800XT and its overclocked to 560 mhz core and 520 mhz ram, its stable as i have done numerous tests using ati tool on it. though i dont have a choice at 500mhz core 500mhz ram.

im using a 21inch widescreen made by philips, its the Brilliance 200W and its max resolution is 1680x1050

apart from the heightest resolution of 1024x768 i only get a 1280x960

and as you know, neither are tru widescreen resolutions.

i dont have much experience with armada 2 but in armada 1 you could change it using one of the config files but thats armada 1 and not 2. wish activision would release the dame source code for the engine, they dont need it anymore.

also doca cola i have tried contacting you on msn, i would really like ot help with modelling on this work, i have only been doing it for 10 weeks and texturing for about 6/7 but if you see my work im sure your agree its very good, i can happily send on show you some.

i dont know how similar one is to tqo but i do remember mostly how to do the hps and create the hierachy tree and also apply damage and the lovely borg mesh, though i haven't seen borg in this but heard they existed before i started playing. i also remember how to do armada 1 .odf's but i dunno if 2 is the same.

currently we do not require modeling help, but thanks.

yes, the saved resolution is of course also saved in a file. but changing that also does not have any effect when setting it to non armada validated resolutions. it's the armada.prf file btw but saved in binary format

hmm yes; just go tor Tibererian sun folder and locate sun.ini open it and set the resolution to your desired value (i recommend you though to pick a "native" one  (4:3) and not 16:9 or something like that :-) Oh and your doing this on your own; don't come to me later and accuse of something (just precausion here; if you use a res. like 1024*768 or 1280 * 1024 there should be no problem)
