I've tried setting the AI at different settings and using different races, but they they never seem to do anything!  All it does is send the scout at me, and when I go over to its home base, it doesn't even fire at me!  Does anyone else have this problem?

KHmmmm, AI hard for all races works perfectly that I am sure of. About the medium and easy tho, they build ships really slowly and they are very easy to play against. They do still shoot back tho and they build a ship here and there Cheesy

Hmmm, I played a few more maps and it seems to work okay.  I guess the AI only works on some of the maps (for me, anyway).

Well that's odd, it works fine now.  I did just download the patch, maybe that did it?  Or maybe it just took a couple matches to "warm up" (who knows?).  It had been the first two maps (my first two skirmishes) but everything's fine now; thanks anyway.  The game's great by the way!

Good to hear Smiley Anyway, if that is happening again, just remember the map you are playing on and which races the AI plays as at which map positions, maybe we can then resolve the issue (if one exists anyway Smiley)

Thx, DOCa Cola

i would like to take this opportunity to say how very very very much i like the new AI and the new challange, after beating 6 AIs on an open map like eraudi in the previeus version it got kinda boring.

yeah but for some reason or other it often shows signs of learning which it did really do in V2.
eg: attack & destroy and ungaurded minning outpost, then return after a few minutes and chances are it has been rebuilt along with some other surprises  Wink

Okay, it did it again.  This time I was playing open fields against medium AI feds. When I first started playing FO and the AI didn't do anything it was on blue, then a few tries on contact point.  After trying then next map (can't remember name) it worked fine, and then I went back and tried the first two maps and they worked fine too.  That's when I posted again saying "That's odd,...".  I have already gone back and tried open fields again and now it works.  In all cases I played with default advanced settings and as dominion and fought against feds on easy (blue), easy medium and hard (contact point) .  I then did hard on the next one it worked fine, and then so did the other maps as I mentioned.  I started playing through the maps in order with medium AI (still same settings) and a few custom maps and they all worked fine, until hitting the problem again with openfields, but as I said, now it works.  I tried an experiment where I started a game and justed waited without doing anything, when the enemy scout came over to my base my base didn't fire!  So my guess is that the problem comes from the AI occasionally having trouble picking an avatar, as I had explained in my first post that when the problem occured the enemy base didn't fire at my ships.  I have a feeling though that there must have been an error in the instalation or something because I find it hard to beleive that no one else has experienced this problem when it happened to me about six times out of about twelve games, or maybe I'm just really really unlucky Sad

hmm strange, i've had a similar problem with a couple of maps wen playin medium, what they do is attack me with a few ships, their fleet grows with each attack but rarely any big ships and after i led a little attack on their base they dont do much rebuilding if i destroy a station but leave construction ships when i retreat. at the same time i'm wondering if i destroyed a dominion outpost and all the construction ships would the AI be smart enough to pull a miner off and put it in contruction mode and rebuild?
