Hmmm... I like the design but i find it a bit unbalanced.  The fact that the second player starts at a random location on the outside of the box is kinda cool, but it takes a maximum of four minutes to find out where he is, and then you can just concentrate all your offensive and defensive ability at the entrance to his area while quickly spreading to the other three areas to the resources.  The "uknown location" of the enemy only lasts through the part at the beginning where your just building up your base, so it's not really much of an advantage for him, and then all of the sudden you have three times the resources and space leading to an almost certain victory.  You should either turn it into a two vs. one (outside vs. inside), though in that case you might not have enough of an advantage; or put wormholes between each of the four outside areas so he has a chance at surrounding you if you're not quick enough.
I did have alot of fun playing it though, and I guess if the game's short enough it manages to keep its balance.  It's when it turns into a long drawn out map that there ends up being no contest.
