i was looking at some old ds9 episodes and as a technology that was never used again and was quite useless. it was in the episode where sisco caputrers the maquis leaader and ex cheif of security on ds9 micheal something (forgotton last name.)

but the defiant had somekind of holo net where when taklking to another ship. the captain of that ship is projected holographically on the ship and then can talk to him like in real person.

i betr that it was never used in the war.  imagine having another captain projected on teh bridge while being attacked. talked about distraction.

Using holos harms privacy. that doesn´t fit to the federation way of behavior. What would you think if someone strange would holo up in you room suddenly? I would ask him to leave because i was naked  LOL .
Others used holos but they were always used in captains lounges or any other "private" establishments, never for official diplomatic acts. In "For the Uniform" maybe that was a try to come up with holos in ST but they quickly found out that it simply doesn´t fit to Star Trek.

It belongs in Star Wars, and I think it should stay there.

Going back to what [TD]Roach about DS9:
There's was one tech that was used to stun or hurt those things that have palsma instead of blood, and it was only shown and used/tested in one episode.  Even the continued episode of that didn't have that scanner thing used.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about...I stil don't know what those things with plasma-blood transforming, etc. things are.
