i read in the sunday paper this morning of patrick stewart suppposedly getting £7 million to appear as captain picard in a new star trek film due out in 2007. couldn't find much info on the net since it isnt even in pre production yet but i found this... star trek filmseems a few people are keen on the idea of a prequel. hmm. i'd like to see a beginning of the federation and starfleet taking off from first contact so its vulcans galore lol what does everyone else want to see in a new star trek film?

frodo, that site said no characters from the star trek universe would be appearing, so how does picard fit in?

aye the borg is boring now. something that isn't focused on 1 starship and its crew would be good

i'd prefer it if it was in that era than a prequel set years before everthing else, in that article in that link above there's something about not relying on special effects. what rubbish! the SFX is a big part of star trek in my opinion and with the SFX tech in movies it wud be awesome, all they need is a **** good story and 3 hours of film!

wasn't the romulan war fought with primitive robot ships, and nuclear weapons. how would there even be a crew?
