would be good except depends on the race see for example if you have rommies its not fair specially if its the first yard and if its generix they are too strong
klingons only get the destroyers on one yard so thats unfair too
and borg get spheres and adaptors so they would rape

there would obviously have to be a balanced tech tree for something like this. i think i recall seeing this (or something like this) on A1, though it has been some time so i have probably forgot something.
