i think the shockwave from a breach should drop shields and cause random internal damage

we've all seen the damage that those can do.

well if this does get put in, players will only go after the ship which makes the biggest bang, because that will, do the most damage to the surrounding ships in its fleet. this will make building the other ships pointless seeing as how they are likely to be destroyed even though they may not have got shot at .

i'm not saying every time the ship's engineering section is hit, i'm saying when a ship is exploding from damage, if the engines are disabled there is a chance (a very slight one) that the ship will "go out with a bang".

aarrgghh, exactly, so when there is a ship that's gonna make a big bang if it explodes, & and a ship that will make a little piddly one, which ship are you going to go for first?

i'd kill the smaller one, and disable the bigger one; mainly because the bigger ship would damage my ship. but that's just me.

you reckon you'd do something thats probably gonna take longer, (as taking system damage is kinda eratic) while your ship/s continue to get shot up .

The little ones weapons are not as good as the biggens So the littles can wait

i'm saying if there was splash damage from ships exploding.

the little ships are easier to takeout, and they will do less damage to you and more to the enemies larger ships, and boom he's down for the count.

so what your saying is the little ships explosion is gonna do heavy damage to the bigger ship?
but if you go for the bigger ship in the first place, that explosion may well take out the little ship completely, completely nullifying the enemies numerical advantage.

but no, you'd want to go for the little ship, all the while the bigger one is hammering away at you. when you finally destroy the little ship, its (smaller) explosion, will do a bit of damage to the bigger ship (u can put money on it not being as much damage as its already dealt to you ship). then you go after the bigger ship (its still shooting at you) until... er... you die or have retreated.
