i read about this elsewhere. seems as though there are a lot of idiots out there who just want the community to die  . thank god MaP had some sense in that thread. im proud to be part of this comunity (even though i don't do much), & to be quite honest rather surprised that it has gone on as long as it has with all the bickering & fingerpointing. i would have said "sod this for a game of soldiers" and just walked away a long time ago, if i had suffered the amount of abuse the Flops team get. |

man i used to mod this game and i annouced i was gonna release a mod it was me and 2 friends the problem is that once you announce it you receive so much pressure and if you do anything you get people telling you its not yours or you stole it from here or there even though you have permission

thats why i left Armada fleet command there is too much conflict
i havent really been a part of the community for a long while now but i would possibly start modding fleetops if permitted
could be fun to add my special energy photon idea and add supply outposts meaning every ship is important and actually requires resupply every say 10 mins
i had an idea what if you made it that special energy slowly drains ?
for example instead of just using energy on photons what about the energy draining at a slow rate and once depleted they can only travel back at say half speed?

It could well be because certain members of the Flops forum are well known for their abrasive posting, and you know that a flame war would have errupted all to easily and with no disrespect to you or Optec, but in the past I've seen flame wars errupt and neither of you has done much to stop it. Still. Perhaps this thread should be locked. |

Programming knowledge? wait, this person is under the idea that they have some kind of programming knowledge? I find this insulting, Did this person read the End User License Agreement (or EULA) would realize that unless the fleet ops team was actually using this to violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Acts or profit from their mod then Activision isn't going to sue, or do anything about this. Activison isn't making profit of armada 2 anymore, I honestly think they would rather spend there money making MORE then waste it sueing a free-ware modding team...
The modding community (in general) is made up of high school kids, so therefor these children are going to point fingers and fight with other teams to make themselves look like they are the "good guys" it's just immature to start crap like this when the A2 modding community has mostly moved on to better things...
I don't want to count how many companies tried to pull this crap, Philip Mooris, the largest tobbacco producer in the united states, Is doing this, they have commercials all the time advertising ways to quit smoking, They are trying to get back on the publics good side so they can start making money again...Someone obviously didn't like one of their mods from this community, and so they felt they needed revenge...
I consider myself a very kind person, I'm very nice, usually sarcastic...but very nice none the less. This is the part where I go darkside, I hate people like that, they start posts tarnishing a person(or persons) reputation and don't bother to look at any other evidence or news, They start flaming wars out of pure and simple ignorance.
Like filetrekker said "Why are we making such a big deal over something that let's each race have it's own unique cursor?"
They threated to run off to activision and maddoc...PLEASE! GROW UP YOU POOR POOR CHILD! I thought you learned it was pointless to tattle on people in 2nd grade?! Sorry for loosing my temper I just remember hating those kids when I was in school, they'd go and tell on me if I was the least bit sarcastic to them because it "hurt their feelings"...
The .exe editing is something which I wish I could help with, but why would you even reply to this person? Give them the satisfaction? I would have said "You need to look deeper, you're speaking out of ignorance, go tattle to activision, have them look over it, and find what you didn't, I'd enjoy a good laugh." The world isn't just "i'll go tell the big guns so they can rip his modding team apart". If you have some problem, you sort it out between yourselves, not go running to mommy.
Final statement through all that: Do not take the opinion of these children seriously, "(in full Klingon Battle Dress) *** Death to the violators! *** (calms down and shakes head)" Honestly...I would have stopping taking this seriously after that post. They need to grow up and realize, mommy isn't always going to be there to save their ***, they need to discuss such things in full with the developers of the mod before they even attempt to accuse you of such. Only thing I have to say to them is, Brush up on the legal system kid, you Can't accuse someone of murder without undeniable proof can you? and you certainly don't make the accusation before you even start looking for proof.
EDIT: That was very harsh, but I'm not going to retract my statement, It makes me look like a jerk, but I'll live with that...
