i think if there is another ST movie it should have the borg, in it. now they ARE as bad as "KAAAHHHNNNN!!" anything else would probably be a waste of time.

I think a new series is the way to go. With epic proporsions, something like DS9 and their Dominion war. That would for sure attract more viewers Wink

personally i think the dominion war kicked a$$, and if that is what the new series is about, they should start with the klingon invasion of cardassia. after the cardassian Civil war.

that link didn't really say anything about anything. or maybe i didn't look far enough back.

Ooh, a wild guess would be that it's going to be about the Romulan War, and the "beginning" of the Federation.

Sorry, i'm just very cynical about Star Trek now, since i've seen B5 (and therefore know the history of where the DS9 series came from).

There have been two plot predictions:

1) The less likely one is that set just after WWIII on Earth...few details were released about that as far as I'm aware.

2) The far more plausible one is that set on board an intersteller Starfleet ship during the middle of the Romulan war.
Info. on this includes idea's about an entirely new crew and the struggles of lving in war time along the Romulan/Starfleet "border".

B5 is, was, a great show, but I don't think that was the sole inspiration for the Dominion War.  And even if it was, I think it turned out quite nicely.
