england did not lose the revolutary war persay so much as they relized that since they were the largest empire in the world America would have to trade with them so they would get the money they wanted from trade anyway but this way the would not have to pay the overhead costes of governing and protecting the united states so they pulled out so they could spend more of there resources elsewhere.

Uh... yeah they did.
The only way they could have possibly won was complete and total occupation, because no matter where their armies went and defeated someone, another militia popped up somewhere else. Also, the americans used better tactics: hit and run, taking cover, etc etc, instead of the british "lets all walk in a small group and take turns shooting".
Their casualty rate was much higher, they didn't win as many battles... and then toward the end, we got help from the french navy on top of that.
And then General Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington on Oct 17, 1781 during the Battle of Yorktown (Oct 6 - 19). Aside from a few minor skirmishes after that, fighting stopped between the Americans and the British.
The British prime minister, Lord Frederick North, resigned after Cornwallis's surrender. The new leaders signed the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783, which officially ended the American Revolution.
The Treaty of Paris basically officiated the colonies moving to their own possession as the USA, and be officially recognized by everyone else as their own entity, and a bunch of other stuff that was pretty minor (like fishing rights and such).
But anyway... why are we talking about this stuff in the developers' diary? o.O Talk about thread derailment...
