I don't have the ability to play online.. or the time;
I also can't wait for FO3... not any more  :omg:

I've been tinkering with AIP's and i've actually made some interesting improvements ... still working on it though...

Have fun!

for armada2 there are a couble of rooms ( lobby, cadett, captain and admiral). is it possible to ask gamespy or another responsible person of creating a room for FO or simply armada2 MODs ? i would use it.

The AI is a very interesting element of armada2. Getting right is very tricky. Even when you make the aips perfectly it has unexpceted bugs.

well what about asking a nuther game comany that all redy hosts gaming posably a small one that needs some publicity. in retern you put tham in the credits, have a start screen ad, and smaler ads thow out the game.

and posabuly the donations you ask for here can go tords a cletion that cood be used to help ask that small company to host a room for your mod.

you cood have a progress bar of a golle amount you have in mind you wont to rasise.

a nuther insintive to get pepal to donate whood be a speshal pass wored site that whood have information not avilibal to fleetop.net such as progrees reports, some exstra screen shots, and if you donathiy anuff you will get a fleetops shert and icon under the Avatar on fleetops.net saying fleetops gold member or some thing.

just a thot

all that is good, ewm, BUT i think it risks splitting the forum in 2:

People who have donated & people who cant afford to donate. a bad idea if you ask me huh

well its the best way i can think to rase needed funds. i am all ways opined two new idea as is the fo teem.

i wish thare was a beter way.

pepal are more liky to give $$$ if thay get some thing in retern. such as a title, speshal acces, some thing fisacil-a shert, or-and to be recinised for doing so in some way. by giving tham all of this will help rase as much capital as posabule.

qoute "Is there at least a possibility to make AI build more stations?" end quote

i thought they did that already if the AI is set on hard or summt? wen allied with a AI hard i've seen them build a couple of stations

Me feds vs 3 klingons (AI Hard)... i can get like 2 fleets of akiras but nothing more... i cant stop building to upgrade because they are constantly attacking me and destroying my ships and akiras are about the only thing that stand up to em... and i cant keep building akiras because i need bigger ships LOL, need to upgrade Sad maybe im just crap... any tips? Sad

AI > Skitzeh :'(

(o and 2 make things worse after about 15 mins on normal speed they all attack me with like over 150 ships... pwned LOL)

I think the AI responds very badly to custom settings (thinner map, no fog etc...) and also to wormholes.

Try changing the options back to Default but set credits to 10, put Fog and Shroud (?) both to ON and don't choose a map with a wormhole (unsure about the wormhole thing, gonna check it out.)

Like I said wit the AI like this it seems to totally rape me with over 150 ships (mostly Vorcha and those big *** ones Tongue) after no more than 20 mins, before that its just continuous waves of B'rel and those bigger BOP ships... and them D17 lookin things... Cheesy

ALOT of fun tho, i spent like 7 tries changing my strategy till i managed 2 survive... i just cant survive the massive ship attack... working on it tho.

EDIT:

OMg omg omg !!! This is so fun now... i keep losing but its just AMAZING!!!!!

Played me vs 2 Roms vs 3 Klings and got WOOOPED!! After like 30 mins massive fight, my 5 fleets of sovvies and akiras against like 100 Rommy Warbirds and Norexan classes... loads of em... i just got totally owned Cheesy:D:D So much fun tho...

!!!!! Cheesy:D:D:D:D

EDIT 2:

Yeh played on map... Dare by Darko or summit, think its custom.

It had wormholes but they AI didnt have to use them Wink It did use them tho and didnt cause any problems with the AI's performance, im pretty sure its the fog that causes the problem... Cheesy Tongue

The AI just dont seem to be able to handle the "see everything", no fog settings in v2, hopefully v3 out soon tho Tongue but for now this injection of AI skill will do Cheesy

I've been experimenting with AIPs instant action settings (& other settings, such as the AI uses cloak more often...)... tripling or more the number of defensive stations, ships and stations (+incubation complex). You have to make the AI build more stations, so it gets more crew... That way AI can build plenty... Of course AI uses less resources than, but it needs the same amount of crew.
Also reduce the global build time by 10% and AI's build and resource cost by 50%.

Then... just wait until he starts to send large fleets and quickly too... Smiley

I got quite bored with all maps and setting the FO has to offer, so i made a few custom maps.... I've been playing my own map called Parallels_big (1 vs 2 vs 3, then 1 vs 4 vs 1 and finally 1 vs 5) since it gives you the opurtunity to get plenty of derelicts and even steal a few Tavara's from the AI at the beginning, but AI's fleets were to weak to pose any real challenge, so i got bored...

Then i begane to tune the AI so it makes a formidable opponent and now...

The best part of it is the moment the AI starts to send its massive fleets, the adrenaline pumping, because you just don't know that your defences will hold... Smiley

It's no fun playing, thinking, if you always know that they'll hold... It's quite nice actually that the computer even surprises you...

Imagine 5 AI's all sending 50 or even 100 ships at you (in the first wave  :omg:  )

Skitzeh, try Parallels_big map, steal Tavara's from AI, get as much as you can (build 12 Incubation complexes), recrew as much derelicts as you can (you can to them with cloacked 6 Tavara's) and build 16 Assimilators all at the beginning. and 16 Assimilators a little later (you can play with others, just build as much starbases as you can). If you survive, quickly research shields and weapons and just try to assimilate a couple of enemy waves as they come, repair them for defense... if you survive, you'll get plenty of assimilated ships for defence or offense...
The feeling, when you survive such a massive assault is incredible Smiley

I'll upload the modified AI config files soon;

Only now have i found the strenght to wait for FO3 Smiley
modified FO2... heavenly  Cheesy

Have fun !

Oh...

I sugest you start with slow game speed at the beginning, so you can optimize the resource construction and derelict aquistion and starbase/incubation construction  Wink

smart man Wink spamm0r too Tongue

double posting... *tut* Shocked!

That sounds awesome tbh, definately agree that findin this new AI challenge gives me the strength to wait for v3 Tongue

Just SO much fun... its a sad day.. im enjoying losing Tongue

(even tho i do kick myself Cheesy)

Thx for the tips Jarod Tongue peace out and enjoy!

EDIT: Also really noticing its almost impossible to play as Feds successfully at the start... they are so slow starting off compared to the Rommies and Klingons that they just wear you down over time until you just crumble (I did get really far... but then made the mistake of stopping ship construction... yeeep bad idea, kicked myself SO hard ffs lol).
