warp is a big no no and we do have warp for the feds you can warp in ships with one of the structures. but the maps are seen as sectors and sectors are small so warp can't be implemented within a sector

you never played feds? the warp in function where you can warp in galaxy, steamrunners, nebular and that other ship for credits? and if you really want warp then you should really start building maps that are about 100,000 x 100,000 . Warp was taking out because it defeated the purpose of defense platforms on faraway stations, why build a defence platform when you could warp 10 fleets of ships there in two seconds, it was taken out to make you think more, so unless you have a huge arse map (which takes warp ships a good minuet to get there anyway) then it won't be put on.

the main problem with huge arse maps is when your fighting against the computer and you have destoryed all his buildings and the only thing left is a small cloaked scout ship and your on a stupidly huge map, you will NEVER NEVER FIND THEM espicaly if theres nebulars, can you imagine trying to find a talon in the last seen somwhere in the milkyway...

i've tried building maps, won't let me, doca said something about it in a topic started by excursion somewhere.
i've played feds loads of times and i've never come across the warp in function lol does it work the same way you could warp in armada 2? holding alt or ctrl or summt and a blue target cursor thing comes up?

no, its just gives you gal, neb, steam or that other class ship, its called warp in because they are "Warping" into the battle to assist you, the clostest thing you will get to warp is improved impulse drive etc,.

the hyper impulse of the saber makes it faster and i usually send em ahead of the fleet.
what would be good is the defiant having hyper impulse and using it while fighting to avoid weapons and such, make it manouvere in the way seen in first contact

Remember the picard maneuver?
using a short warp jump to fool the enemy's scanners. that was an in secter warp.

the warp in isnt actually ships with warp, its a function of a building making a new vessel. instead of seeing the bulkheads being processed like you do in a shipyard the warp in is just ship that appear right at starfleet command when its build progress bar has completed.

i know, i'm just saying there is a non cheap way to use warp in a strategy. and before FO, i would create huge maps and put blackholes and planets all over with a few wormholes, and the warmholes entry points are near black holes too.
