G is a pass? Smiley

I got A for my german work in year9 So I dropped it and am doing French instead which I got C/B. My logic isn't exactly Vulcan standard though I got A/B in my logic class to. hmm...

I'm about to start year 10 and my GCSEs. I'm doing History, (teacher prodicted A) RE, (teacher prodicted A) ICT, (teacher prodicted C I never liked her) Science, (teacher prodicted A) English (teacher prodicted C, I have bad splllin) Maths (teacher prodicted A) and French  (teacher prodicted B )

Does that count as showing off?

Would anyone care to explain the system (or even the acronym GCSE)?

I'm a teacher in the States, so I'm perversely interested in this kind of thing.

@ketteringdave   not sure what the "G" stands for but think the others go something like:

"G"?  "C"ertificate  of  "S"econdary  "E"ducation. i think thats what it is.

you take them in the UK (usually) in your last year of compulsory schooling year11 (sometimes year10) you'll be about 15/16 years old

A* or A+ being the highest grade you can achieve
& either a "U" or an "X" is the lowest you can achieve

@admiralryan yes that could be counted as showing off  so to cut you down a few pegs:

yes a C in english  its PREdicted Wink . i can tell you now you won't get those PREdicted grades if you don't improve your spelling, so you must try to work on that. good luck with that Smiley
& an A in maths indeed, how can you be starting year 10, when you were born in 1988. (check your profile), thats 2 years after me and i left school 3 years ago.

GCSE is General Certificate of Secondary Education (i think) and with most exams you're given a percentage result and a grade, i.e 90%or more = A grade 80% B grade etc

i got 4 Bs, 6 Cs and a D Cheesy thats about average lol left school last year with 2 a levels in media and psych after dropin biology and chem and over sleeping on the day of my law exam lol, knew i didn't stand a chance considering i sacrificed a few law lessons for a pint LOL
