then like i said post a pic (or a link to the source you got it from) so if it wasn't in trek it ain't cannon. for nearly every non-cannon ship proposed, PD complains about it not being cannon, now decides a non-cannon phaser pod variant nebula is fine... one word: hypocrite

Lol extra necelles? How does that help? Well, extra necelles... i suppose you would use them for deep space exploration, say if you needed them for quick warp jumps or something. Also, i find it hard to believe there is one with a phaser POD... whats the point when the ships has phasers anyway? The three i listed were canon ones seen at some stage or other in the show! Also, regarding the Exclelsior (as you mentioned it) i would replace that dodgy looking ship with it (the one you get last in the original shipyard) i know we have the Excelsior II but still, the original would be a nice addition!

We have the Excelsior 2...which is basically a Lakota with sovern necelles...It would be so easy to convert to a real ship.
Anyways extra necelles don't make a ship go any faster in warp, they are used to let the other engines rest when needed so the ship can stay in warp longer.

i thought it was to give more control over the warp bubble geometry to allow faster/less harm on subspace movement of ships....

It may allow for a more stable warp bubble, and maybe a LITTLE faster, but it's mainly used so the warp engines don't become overstressed.

I agree with pd, for once. wierd i know. --- edit in fed ships do they still pass the phaser current through warp coils to increase firepower? and if so would the nebula extra nacelles inprove phaser damage?
