Yo!

Soz if this is in the wrong place but... well... I'm an idiot Wink

Been blitzing away at a FleetOps for like 26 hours straight now (GREAT MOD!!!) and just wanted to ask about the grammar and spelling you guys have used. There are alot of grammatical errors (where instead of were, handles instead of gives, etc.). Its not a big issue but I think it kinda makes the mod feel slightly cheap (still a GREAT MOD!!! Tongue).

I kno its one of the REALLY confusing bits of teh english language tho! Cheesy

No offence! Great work so far guys totally luv it! Tongue

Peace & Luv

Hi and welcome to the forums! Smiley

Yep, cause the whole Fleet Ops team is German some little errors might got into Beta2    its not our native language.
We put some extra work into the new tooltips (including a new font, hurray!  cheesy  ) and hopefully we were able to correct all spelling and grammar errors for v3.

hehe, i am sure we would see the spelling and grammar mistakes by reading what is written in the tooltips and stuff. i think it goes like this, after a new vessel or weapon gets green light, optec is thinking of a brief description for a vessel or weapon and writes it into the languange file and at once going back to his other odf stuff not reading it a second time cause he is already concentrating on his next task. then before next testgame optec gives detektor and me a detailed description what the weapon or vessel is and what can be done with it and then of course noone is reading a tooltip cause we already know what it does and how it functions. i know for my self, i seldom read any tooltips because of that. during testgames we concetrante on balancing and visual errors and do not hover with the mouse over a button or vessel waiting for a description as we already know what it is - and trust me you can waste much time during a game just reading tooltips Cheesy nevertheless, yes, a bit support would be good. as soon as everything is in place i will open a thread with the v3 languange file, so everyone can download, check and post any error found.

what do you think?

fine then, everyone who found a bug will get credited then in the languange file comment header. along with that i am going to open a new thread about languange file translations. we have had spain and german translations with beta 2 in the languange pack, maybe we find more people interested translating into their native languange.

errm, i don't think so Cheesy but i think it's a good idea for a vessel you can only have by putting it on a map with the map editor

you know what... i rarely ever notice any of the grammar mistakes, thats all there really is, not really anything mispelled. you've done a lot better at translating than a lot of people whose native tongue is english  Wink
