Hey,
I downloaded Fleet Ops a few days ago and have been utterly amazed by the quality of this mod. I never realized how horrible the original game was Wink

To the point: When ever I build a descent class ship, the giant federation one, my frame rate cuts in half. And when I build 2, or 3, it just dies (not literally, but I get like .5 to 1 frames a second, at most. This only happens when the ship is on screen though.

I normally have all the graphics setting up to max, and the game runs fine. I can build 40 warbirds and it doesn't slow down at all, but if I build a Descent class, I'm screwed. So I lowered every graphical setting to the lowest it could go, even the resolution, but it didn't help a single bit.

It's only the descent class too. I've played with all the races and all the ships, buts its only the one that slows me down.

Any help?  Thanks

Hey, and welcome to the forums. Could you post a dxdiag log, go to run put in dxdiag then go to save all information at the botomn. Its just eaiser then having you post your system specs on your own.

EDIT:
I would try reinstalling the game, but I dont realy know what to do other than that and updating drivers.

Welcome to the forums!
the solution is simple, install the latest patch for fleet operations and the problem should be gone. the descent slowdown was a critical bug of beta 2 crept in as i compilated the setup files and was fixed not even a day afterwards with a hotfix.

Get it from the download page.

Didnt think to ask about the patch, I just saw it as comon sense (not sayin joeman is an idiot, it may have not been obvious if he downloaded it from someplace that didnt link to the patch.)

Are you calling me an idiot?  LOL
I downloaded it from this site, but I guess I just overlooked it.

I just sent a squad of Descent's into a borg mining outpost and needless to say, they didn't survive long Smiley
