remote ftp servers usually have port 21
as opening connections to remote servers unless of which port you are connecting to random ports are used on your computer to establish a connection. like you are connecting to a ftp to port 21 on a remote server some port for example 6856 is opened locally. firewalls usually look what you are trying connect to and open those random ports when they know the port the request is directed to is allowed.
