As Doca said, critical tasks split up in several smaller task when they are processed. So no worries, it's just the cake chopped into smaller slices

I think they add one task per week, which seems reasonable until you realise that it takes about two weeks to complete a task. I did a rough calculation based on this, and I predict that the new version will be released in... hold on let me check again...
I can't read my own handwriting it seems. It looks like an eight on its side.

My experience with projects means that I'd hazard a pretty good guess I know exactly how the FO Team feel.
You look at what you've got, you see only 8-10 things you need to change or tidy up, but then once you start changing those you notice more and more things, bits that no longer fit which you need to replace. Things that are useless which you want to be useful. It's an endless cycle, it will probably never stop. There will always be something to improve, something to do differently.
I wish Optec and Doca would just draw the line and say "When these tasks are done, we WILL release V3", I appreciate that they want to create something epic and fully immersive, I really do..
I guess they'll want it to be perfect but c'mon guys.. I love the game and I love your effort.. but the world isn't gonna stop and wait. We've all been sitting here for years, being patient, watching the "to-do" tasks go up and down and uppp and downnn. The longer it goes without being released the greater our expectations will be, and if it's not up to scratch when you release it then no one is gonna stick around long enough to make all the hard work worth while.

Be patient when it does get released it will be the closest thing we will get to a Armada III. And it will be worth the wait.

For all 10 of the remaining people still interested in it. I was amazed when I first played the v3pr at how awesome it was. But enough is really enough, I've long since removed that from my compy since it is an unfinished game after all. It's the final version I want to see, but at this rate it will be out about the same time Duke Nukem Forever is...actually that will probably come first. They need to just go ahead and come to a prearranged point and release it, then deal with any remaining issues through patches like any other game is handled these days. No matter how much fine tuning they do there are still going to be issues, probably even one or two major issues too deal with come release day that they haven't foreseen. It's just time too bite the bullet. A master piece is worth nothing if it never sees the light of day.
