Actually, I meant something like "The Federation in version 3." As far as I know, there hasn't been a thread like this...

Not to be rude or disrespectful to everyones hard work here, but clearly this is a project that has poor planning and is out of control.
For tasks to be added so late in the game on a continuing basis is just poor form.
Yes I understand that this is done in peoples free time and that we are not paying for it but there has to be some point where you say stop and just release something. There is always going to be more time to make other releases. At this point I think people will be happy with anything, as long as they have something new compared to the last release.
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but it had to be said.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to flame u, k?
I noticed that u've only had 4 posts in the forum? Without being "flamish" or rude, might I suggest that you spend some time in the forum, to get a feel of the environment here, and how people think and interact with eachother? I think you'll find that most people are so excited with the mod, and we ALL realize how wonderful this team of..how many people was it? 2? 3?... has created a mod that has FAR surpassed it's original version, that all of us are happy to wait the extra...month? month and a half tops? added by updating the graphics, or changing some code, or even altering a model. Also, to top off the cake, this mod isn't just the team of 2/3 people. This mod has been something that has been created up by countless fans. It isn't just a dev team creating a modification of a game, it's a community of people re-creating a game how it should have been. (I realize that I partially contradict myself here, but previously I was emphasizing the team of people that was actually coding/modeling/physical creation and laboring over the game)
Thanks for trying to give us some pointers, but i suggest that you try to get a feel for the community, before you start criticizing what the community has created/almost created.

Auxilio: I am inclined to agree with you except I am a little alarmed by the sudden increase in tasks. We went from only 7 tasks remaining to 12 in a manner of days. I have been waiting for this release for 4 years now, so I think I can say I'm as patient as the rest of them, but the increase in tasks gives me pause.

Tasks are not added and then removed. They evolve. A single Task may be splitted into several smaller Tasks, to make it easier for us to control the workflow. You can think of it as encapsulated modules that are opened once they are to be processed. Other tasks move up in priority. Many of the "added tasks" so many people worried about here were just classified tasks of a previous development step. So don't worry, project development did not go out of hand. We are still very close to a release. A release where you will find more surprises then you think of!
