Ehh, yup? Why else should they put that onto the "for another version" list then? Tongue
I think the team should move that onto the high priority list as no saving makes skirmishes with 7 AIs senseless (unless you want to play over 3 hours without takin a break).

Agreed.  I much enjoyed saving my games and coming back to them, and I would be very disappointed if V3 didn't allow for this.

How could a VM help?

Saving VM session when FO is running? (just a guess)
I don't think that is very practical.

Ah, but then you might as well just set your computer to "Hibernate" rather than "Shut Down" (or whatever other option).

Not exactly practical.

pssht:: Armada needs a 3D accelerator card, but don't tell anyone;

regarding virtual machines:: it depends if the virtual machines are capable of doing stuff like that. I think it might be possible, but I don't know if WINE would be a good example for a Virtual Machine;

nope, wine is not a good example as wine is not a virtual machine, more a wrapper library.. Wink

about the savegames: savegames won't work in v3 final, i had to disable this option. for each feature in v3 that somehow affecs gameplay armada requires an own function for when a game is saved. that was not possible to program for me in time, however it is planned to bring this functionality back in a patch for v3.

Yikes!

So... my usual two or three Week Battles must be radically cutted down, due to Non-Functioning Savegames...  sheesh... GoodBye my Real Life... it was a good time with you but... no... I can't do this, I can't play a Battle in just 2 Hours...
