It's not even of different size than the Sovereign. It's just the nacelles cut off and reattached elsewhere.

And the NCC-1834 makes no sense. If it was a new ship with an old name, it would have a number in the NCC-7XXXX range. If it was to honor an old ship with a famous name and number, it would be NCC-1834X.

well there are inconsistances with the registries now, i don't think the writers can be bothered to keep it going. but the bottom line with this is its just plain  crap.


BTW speaking of registries, on the nemesis movie when picard & data are in astrometrics, data brings up a map with the Omega battle group. in this group was the USS Valiant NCC-75418. how can this be? i thought the valiant was destroyed by that big dominion battleship. huh if this is a different ship what is it?

This makes little sense, moving the warp necelles shouldn't make a new class of ship.
