The installer is protecting the compatibility of MP. Without it countless files from the original A2 that would cause incompatibility would be transfered over, not to mention that the run time edits and some other stuff that they coudlent legaly distribute but comes on the armada 2 cd.
What countless files are you talking about? Every other mod is installed without an installer. And they don't need to distribute files from the A2 cd, any intelligent person can install the game themselves and add the mod!
There is a difference between MP compatibility and compatibility with the original program. So far in your countless number of posts you haven't given any good reason that the installer protects either of them.
Now about the launcher; as far as I can tell, the runtime edits are superficial changes to things like the font. I'm sure theres a way to do it without the launcher, or at the very least accomodate those who can't run the launcher. Make it optional.
I'm sorry but your arguments are dissmissive and lack any understanding of the very basic problem that MANY PEOPLE CAN"T PLAY THE GAME BECAUSE OF THIS UNNECESSARY "FEATURE".
