Hey all. First let me say WOW!! Fleet Operations has definetly renewed my passion for Armada. What an incredible job you've done. Thank you very very much. I took the time to look through as many past threads as I could before posting so I wouldnt repeat whats already been said and found that much of what I think would be a great addition has already been suggested. So I'll just briefly list the modifications and addition I would like to see.

1. Tractor Beams and boading parties on most ships. (definetly a must )
2. More planets and other space bodies. ( the current FO space scenery is
    spectacular tho. )
3. Ships could be toughend up a bit so they can hang in a fire fight a
little longer. ( I think they should be able to take more of a pounding before
they blow. Lengthy battles are so much more fun. )
4. More very very large maps. ( I think the bigger the map the more fun and
realistic it is. You really get a feeling of how big and vast space is. )
5. Attack formation buttons. ( So your ship doesnt just sit there while it attacks. )

That's all. Let me say that I feel kinda wrong for making ANY kind of suggestions to a group of guys who are clearly at the top of their game. These suggestions are just my opinion. I would like to do what I can to contribute to this community and since my modding skills are limited I would be happy to make another kind of donation. PM or email me at your convenience and let me know what is appropriate. Thanks for letting me in.   Smiley

BTW - is there a tennative release date for #3 ? I looked but couldnt find one.

Hey welcome to the forums! Yes we are very proud of our devs Optec, Doca, and Detektor. About the modifications:

1. Yeah I already hope we get more tractor beams.

2. We've been told there will be new spacial objects in V3.

3. I hope ships are toughned a bit also.

4. I'm planning on making some really big maps, of course that can also increase lag.

And i'm sure they appreciate the feedback, to make a perfect mod slightly better. No date is set for the next release.

Welcome to the board Sawer  cool

1. Agreed, more tractors might me nice. Perhaps i could be a race-specific thing (Like the fed's have lots but the Klignon's don't). Still, there would probably be an option to switch this to construction ship tractors only if they re-introduce CTF games.

2. The More the merrier  cheesy

3. Not really sure (i havent actually played the mod yet:sweatdrop:)

4. HELL YEAH!!! I live for big maps. A game on a big map is a completly different experience to small maps. While we shouldn't forget the small maps (they're good for beginners and tournament games) some big maps would be superb for all out wars.

However, some minimap modification might me nessesscary (i downloaded from A2 files a map called "The Galaxy is yours" that's so big that the minimap is virtually useless for finding your ships!).

Thanks for the welcome everyone. There are some pretty good debates going on here regarding preferences with ships weapons and whats balanced and whats not.

Let me just say this, the best simulator and strategy games I've ever played have been ones that give you lots of options regarding battle and strategy. Especially in a Star Trek game. I want lots of options. Not just phasers and shields. I want to be able to choose tractor beams and boarding parties and self destruct and attack patterns and everything else that makes Trek warfare cool. Adding launchable probes was a great idea. Options and variety are what gives a game longevity and keeps it fresh. As long as its balanced, I say " bring on the options".

I havent been here long enough to get to know the Dev's at all but from what I've seen, they definetly know what they're doing.  Smiley

You were right the first time. I was speaking of "attack patterns". The buttons that instruct the ship how to move about while attacking.  Smiley  Nice to meet you Optec.

While were asking questions, here's one that cropped into my head. I know its a little dumb but i just wanna know, could a ship have two of the same special weapon? (i.e a cube with two Holding beams that worked independantly from one another).
