I need some info for the story.

What is the difference in speed between Warp drive, Transwarp, and Slipstream?  How much faster is one than the other?  And how fast would a ship traveling Slipstream be able to travers about 4,000 light years?

I have never heard of slipstream, although it's probably a knockoff of warp, like hyperspace, or subspace is. I think their all essentially subspace travel, where your ship goes much faster then the speed of light. I'm not going to say, that what I say is the right thing, but it just seems logical.

Apparently transwarp is the fastest, with near instantanious travel to any destination, the borg also used these on their ships, but it seemed like it was just a much faster warp, and wasen't instantanious.

Hyperspace would probably be the second fastest, because star wars ships can arrive anywhere it seems within a few days at the most. According to the books though, ships would have to stop off a few times per trip, for refueling, resting, or in the rebels case, to throw off the imperials to where their origin system had been.

Warp would apparently be the third, although time consuming. Alot slower then hyperspace, relatively speaking, a federation ship would take a month to get from one end of the federation to the other.

Subspace came from the game freespace, a good game. Apparently fighter class vessels can go to any point in space they want nearly instantaniously by engaging their subspace drive. Capital class ships has to go to a point in space called the jump gate, which was just a point in space where some sort of a subspace tear had formed at sometime in history. The capital ships would go to this point and be able to travel to the other end of the tear, which was usually the next system.

Dude just keep warp, this is star trek...

I've played Freespace, and Freespace 2, and I agree that they are both awesome games.

I am keeping this within terms of StarTrek, and Slipstream is a form of travel that Voyager came across and experimented with in the Delta Quadrant.  I remember bits of information on when they used it, and apparantly it COULD be faster than Transwarp.  It was somewhere along the lines of hundreds of light-years, or a couple thousand, in a matter of minutes.  Can't remember exactly.  I don't have the statistics on me right this second.

Concerning hyperspace though, are you saying that even Warp 9 would be slower than a SW ship in hyperspace?  Cuz when I've read about Star Wars ships jumping to hyperspace, their destination is usually a few days, to a week off, or sometimes even more.  Warp 6 and up usually gets you somewhere in a few hours.  Even on Enterprise, Warps 1-5 would get them somewhere with at the most, 2 or 3 days.

Wow man, you've totally thrown me off with what I thought these actually were.  I may just have to read up on all of them again and find the specific details just to be sure.

I don't know anything on this topic but I'd like to point out that the USS Juno was an ambassador-class vessel that was destroyed while patroling an old battlezone with the Enterprise-E. I read it in a recent book series, the book being called Star Trek: A Time To Be Born.

Keep in mind in star wars, they took days to go accross the galaxy, in star trek that took voyager years and years, of course she wasent at maximum warp. You can see the differance when it takes the rebel fleet half a day to warp from sullust to coruscant, when thats about a third of their galaxies length.

Wtf you talking about ewm? I don't recall them ever calling hyperspace slipstream. Besides, hyperspace was brought to the starwars galaxy by a race that went extinct millenia ago, relatively speaking.
