Originally hitler looked to mussolini as his idol, he was the first real dictator, followed shortly by stalin. He never took complete control of italy like hitler did germany, there was still a king. If memory serves, mussolini was captured but freed in a daring raid by german paratroopers in 44 or 45. Of course later he was recaptured and executed.

Italy was technically a monarchy under the rule of Victor Emmanuel III.  This monarchy operated, however, like modern-day Britain in that the Prime Minister had the real power.  Mussolini became PM, so he took control.  And Hitler did follow Mussolini.  In fact, the Nazis had influence from Mussolini's Fascist Party, so they were similar.  As for the Italians surrendering, I'm sure that they outnumbered the British 10:1, but the US and other allies fought in North Africa as well, and I believe the Egyptians fought off the Axis Powers as well.

To get back on topic,
WILL ANYBODY PLEASE COMMENT ON THE PICTURE OF KIRK (A.K.A. SHATNER) THAT I FOUND?! Cheesy

well if both are given the same ships, the same crew, i think that they would be kinda eqally matched, it depends, on which ship they would both have

Cool beans.  Let's see how Kirk and Picard would handle some Orion slave women.  They were seen more frequently in TOS, and they've never been seen in any other series except for Enterprise.

Hmm who would win: the guy who sings Row Row Row Your Boat with a Drunken Chief Engineer (Scotty on Scotch) or Picard who's so stuck up about the Prime Directive who has a blind engineer that sometimes the Vizier wears out and he's blinder then drunken Scotty... Choices choices...
Then let's move to first officers. A guy who doesn't get drunk and is also stuck-up, yet rule breaking if nessessary: or a guy with a beard that worries if Troy is crying....
Ok lets head to science officers: the russian or the robot... I'd choose a Russian over a robot.

So, really it comes down to whose done the Federation better: Picard.

That's a pretty easy question to answer. How many times have we seen Picard get into a fist fight? Like once? Maybe? That and he's like 50+.

Kirk on the other hand...every other episode, it's a brawl with someone. Plus, he's half Picard's age and in a lot better obvious physical condition. Kirk, as I recall, worked out all the time and was boxer.

Kirk, end of story.

Ship to ship though.....toughie. Picard is indespuitably a good tactician but he lacks the sort of guts that Kirk had. The impulsiveness. Who knows.

sorry about posting on a cold topic, but i just saw this and had to post.

hand to hand Kirk (remember Star trek: genesis?, kirk is a much better fighter then picard)

ship to ship picard.

ship to same ship. Kirk (picard follows the rules to the letter, kirk bends em backwards, or breaks em all together; dirty fighters usually win, not always, but usually) :omg:
