I find the hero idea pretty dumb, theres absolutely no differance in the E-E Sovern compared to the rest of the class except a captain whos been lucky enough to durvive this far, so why would it get to be more powerful? Same with all the other heros.

for once i ahve to agree with you. though if Rank Stats is added then i think that i coudl be used well, like warp in the Enterprize-E witch has Vetran stats. but then off corse. lol what would the stats be?

I wouldn't mind seeing hero ships, For example the enterprise-e would have a better hit chance against small ships the defiant having a less chance of being hit, voyager having a limited restiance against borg ships, the borg queen ship having either turning into a sphear if the cube is destoyed and or being able to transport to a enemy ship and take it over even with the sheilds up, A Romulan ship being able to capture an enemy ship and disquise it as a frendly or just being able to buid one Scimitar class ship and realy make it kick butt with the thaleron wepon (takes 4+ soveren class ships to distroy it) At the moment I can't think of any good domian/ breen/ cardasian hero ships.

How can more experiance make a ship fire more Phasers or torpedos, or get 50% more shielding or a hull alot stronger then standard? Arn't there not other experianced crews on other ships? Think about it...

Lets look at it this way, at Wolf 359 a single borg ship destroyed over 40 federation star ships yet only the Enterpise survived. Why did the borg just ignor the enterprise if there was nothing special they already captured Picard. During the invasion of Cardassia the only ship to break though was the defiant. What made the Defiant so special? The Voyager well lets just say it survived a stroll though the heart of borg space how could that happen if it was just a noral ship with a normal crew? All three of these ships had at least one member of the crew who was one of a kind.

From what I remember the hero ships where upgraded in some way or another. e.g. defiant had cloak, voyager had a whole range of stuff, and the enterprise had somthing better im sure, as it was the flagship of the federation. Besides that you could make hero ships harder to hit and also hit more often(im pretty sure this would just mean a slight modification to the system fleetops uses already). Anyhow heroships would be cool, they are slightly modified usually and also would be slightly better at firing and defending, they also might repair faster because they have the best engineers about. Anyhow ive finished ranting now, lol.

But other ships from the other galactic powers have heros no one hears about. How can you give Picard something special and not these unknowns? Half the ships in starfleet probably have crews with years of experiance just like Picards...am I getting thru to anyone?

we come back to the old problem: are picard and his crew heros cause the camera and storry follows them or.. does the camera follow them cause they are heros i would tend to the 2nd statement. of course there are very experienced crews in starfleet, but they ARE no heros.. that's what makes einstein more important then a super studied physic professor  it's something supernatural. you can't describe humans with logic or formulas, like "6 years of experience, that makes you a hero!" maybe the "hero" phenomenon does only occure in the human species. maybe there simply are no romulan or klingon heros in such a way (also kahless would say something different).. in Flops every race will get heros if there will be heros |
