Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: -Hammerdin- on March 09, 2004, 12:50:02 PM Hello, I start Armada 2 with FO (B:2.03) same weeks ago.
Now I persuade a friend to instal the game - for a little multiplayer game ICP/IP -direct ip (no gamespy),... but we always have out of sync message and the games becomes unplayable because both play a "own" game... we have tried with: 2 vs 2 (Player&Player vs. NPC&NPC) also 1on1 (Player vs. Player) - work a bit longer, but later sync msg. My Q. is - how can I configurate the Netsetting or optimize? Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 09, 2004, 02:51:03 PM Welcome to the forums. Now that used to happen when you used the tachyon scan on the outposts and starbases but that was fixed. Fleet ops is much better about that then the origional game. I can't think of anything else that could cause that problem.

Hm, make sure you both have fixed ip adresses defined like 192.168.0.X range and submask set to 255.255.255.0 DOCa Cola Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 09, 2004, 04:10:39 PM Of course  :fish:

Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: -Hammerdin- on March 09, 2004, 06:18:04 PM Quote Welcome to the forums @ DOCa Cola - u mean Lan or? but we play online. Hm, make sure you both have fixed ip adresses defined like 192.168.0.X range and submask set to 255.255.255.0 DOCa Cola Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: DOCa Cola on March 09, 2004, 07:25:29 PM yea, i meant lan, online is not nearly not optimizable cause thats related to your isp. the other main reason could be a problem with your computer itself, make sure if you or your friend has a router that it is probably configured to work with armada.
DOCa Cola Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: -Hammerdin- on March 09, 2004, 08:29:49 PM I think we make sure that all ports they are given in the "NetHelp.txt"
"DirectPlay 8 Ports 2300..2400 UDP inbound and outbound 6073 TCP inbound and outbound" Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: cts006 on March 09, 2004, 10:04:47 PM Maybey of they where in there routers DMZ...

Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: -Hammerdin- on March 10, 2004, 02:47:27 PM So,
We test the game with a other Player (also DSL) without router. First time with some NPCs - but the sync message come after some minutes - so,... it cant be the tachyon scan bug, I think. Is there a way to host dedicated server? Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 10, 2004, 04:06:41 PM Nope, just make sure you have all the patches, im sure Doca has all the technical answers and he can prolly fix.
Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: -Hammerdin- on March 10, 2004, 05:59:45 PM Quote Nope, just make sure you have all the patches, im sure Doca has all the technical answers and he can prolly fix. I instal. Armada2 (ger. version), Fleet Operations Version Beta 2 ("The official Armada II 1.1 patch is included in this package, you don't have to install it seperatly."), then Fleet Operations Patch Version Beta 2 Patch 2 (2.03), then Fleet Operations Mutimedia Pack Version 1 and Fleet Operations Language Pack (choose german)Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: cts006 on March 10, 2004, 10:05:06 PM DMZ is the De-Miltarized Zone, its where you are essentialy outside ur routers fire wall... As long as you have the latest windows patches and an antivirus you should be okay to be in. You need to check ur router settings to change it.
Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 11, 2004, 12:51:32 AM Quote The official Armada II 1.1 patch is included in this package, you don't have to install it seperatly Well I dont recall hearing that you didnt need to install the 1.1 patch. Did anyone else install the patch on the unpatched game before installing the mod or am I the only idiot? Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: DOCa Cola on March 11, 2004, 11:38:44 AM you don't need an armada preinstall before installing fleetops
Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 11, 2004, 08:38:42 PM I installed this mod about 5 months ago so give me a break if my memory is a lil off, do you need to install the official patch is what I want to know.
Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: Lt.Cdr.White on March 11, 2004, 09:13:16 PM No, the Armada II patch is included in the FleetOps installer.
Edit: Grammar corrected. Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: PREATOR DEFIANT on March 12, 2004, 01:18:10 AM Okey dokey.

Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: DOCa Cola on March 12, 2004, 12:56:09 PM Quote My CD is 1.1 so iether way it wouldent hurt me. yea, the 1.1 cd was the big problem with beta 1.0 as we haven't had one so wrong files were copied of the cd...that were times ;) good they are overDOCa Cola Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: Valorous on March 16, 2004, 02:06:46 PM Yes. Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: cts006 on March 16, 2004, 06:46:09 PM Well, i never played beta 1 with my current a2 cd.
Title: B2:Network - Online Setting Post by: KL0K on March 20, 2004, 08:19:57 PM i got the same problem, yesterday. i played with someone and just got out of sync. could it be a problem with the transferrate? cause the host had a 56k an i got dsl broadband connection(?).
and beside that, a strange thing is.. i cant host a game, and get a message like "u canīt host, cause gamespy dont know this game"
