Title: B2:install - Cd-less Version? Post by: |AXiN| on November 17, 2003, 02:53:28 AM First off, before I start - never, ever, EVER buy a Hewlett-Packard computer. Ever.
Now, my computer has a bizarrely defective cdrom drive - some cds it just refuses to read. Armada 2 is one of these. Now, with Call to Power 2 I was able to install across the network and crack it, and I was able to do the same with Armada, but it means that I cannot install using the B2 installer, as the CD is not in the drive. The computer I had networked is dead for the forseeable future (overclocking gone terribly, terribly wrong :cry: ) so I was wondering if it'd be possible to release a download which did not require the cd. Currently there is no such version planned cause of compatibility reasons. Here a workaround.

Post by: cts006 on November 22, 2003, 05:55:52 PM i might also recomed a program called alcohol 120% it alowes you to save game cd's to your hard drive with the ability to acces them via a simulated cd drive. kinda like what doca said all in one tool.

I see it in My Computer, I can open it but the installer won't detect it. I tried making it an image and on emualted it but it still said its not there. Why have I been forsaken with such a fate?

This drive works fine when i play bf1942 or anything else. Post by: DOCa Cola on January 11, 2004, 09:54:03 PM the drive is good, the cd is good, but it is no original one, and thats exactly the problem, if you have a broken cd and want to have a backup, then get a better one than a cd with crack but an 1:1 copy, there are a few files missing on the cd making it impossible for fleetops to work, sorry for that but you should get another cd or cd image what you have is a rip of armada 2.
you could try to receive an backup image over an p2p service like the edonley network with the emule (http://www.emule-project.net/). client as for backup images i recommend either Star.Trek.Armada.2.(CCD).zip star.trek.armada.2..iso on the edonkey network DOCa Cola Title: B2:install - Cd-less Version?
