Title: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Jolteon on March 29, 2008, 10:35:52 AM Is there any idea of the minimum specifications v3 will need? I'm running a 1.8GHz 1Gb RAM nVidia GeForce 6600LE, it runs Armada 2 itself pretty good, but Fleet Ops looks like it will murder it...
If I do get a new PC, is Armada2/Fleet Ops multithread compatible, if I got multiple CPUs would it spread load of just use one? Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Dominus_Noctis on March 29, 2008, 07:52:01 PM Well... according to the site:
System Requirements für Armada II: Fleet Operations Minimum: Pentium 4 (1.5 GHz) or Athlon 1500+ 256 MB RAM Windows 2000 64 MB Video Card 4x CD-ROM drive 1 GB hard-disk space Recommended: Athlon 2000 + or Pentium 4 (2.44 GHz) and higher 1 GB RAM Windows 2000/XP/Vista 128 MB Video Card or higher LAN or broadband internet connection for multiplayer Thus your rig should be good enough Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Meredith on March 29, 2008, 10:18:55 PM I dont think so cause I was having problems in the past with 512 ram and a nice intergated video card and I had problems running the game I would say
Minimum: 2 GHz Cpu 516 MB RAM 6 series or better nvida or ati equivelent 4x CD-ROM drive 1 GB hard-disk space Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Dr. Lazarus on March 29, 2008, 10:25:42 PM It depends on lots of things. A 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo is faster than a 3Ghz pentium 4, and RAM comes in many flavours too. As for graphics cards, I have an NVidia GeForce 8500GT, which is reasonably fast but it's a lot slower than an 8600 or 8800.
I reckon a 6 series will probably do the job nicely as long as it's not a budget card. Otherwise you'd have to lower the settings on Furry Onions. The details do seem to matter. My guess if you wanted max settings would be: 2Ghz Core 2 Duo or AMD X2 1Gb RAM if you have vista, 512Mb if you have XP Middle range 6 series or higher, or ATI equivalent 4 speed CD-ROM as usual 1 Gb hard disk space Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: ewm90 on March 30, 2008, 04:54:04 PM I don't think my PC could run it with 1k ram 10mb hard drive Microsoft doss 1.0 with a double density floppy drive?
Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: dermo1990 on March 30, 2008, 05:06:04 PM My pc is using a 1.66Ghz Intel core 2 duo processor, 2GB Ram, nVidia GeForce 8400M Gs. Should this be enough to run the final release of Fleetops?
Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Dr. Lazarus on March 30, 2008, 06:39:21 PM I'd say so dermo, shouldn't be a problem on your system.
Lol ewm. Hmmm, depends how much of that RAM your DOS operating system uses up!!! :D Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: auxilio ab alto on March 31, 2008, 01:52:29 AM Oh, and ewm, u might want to tell us what yur graphics card is...or if it even has one, lol.
Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: ewm90 on March 31, 2008, 04:57:45 AM The graphics card is powered by a hamster in a wheel. its the hamsteramatic 3,001 I want to up grate to a CATermax XI but I am wearied the cat may eat the hamster cosing the 1k ram to explode...
Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Dr. Lazarus on March 31, 2008, 03:28:05 PM I want a Hamstermatic 3001. Now. :D
I'm guessing the Hamster rotating the wheel generates Floating Point Operations per second which are well suited to graphics processing. Sounds good. Title: Re: Estimated Minimum Specs of Fleet Ops? Post by: Dominus_Noctis on March 31, 2008, 10:20:22 PM All I have to say is... Well, frass happens :sweatdrop:
