Title: Music/noises/voices
Post by: Dominus_Noctis on March 14, 2008, 10:37:14 PM
I hate to create an entire thread for this... but maybe it'll lead to a whole slew of thoughts. Noticing for the nth time that the Dominion Soundtrack has not been chosen, I thought that perhaps the members here have suggestions that the Developers might consider/like (although in usual fashion, I know nothing *cue Faulty Towers*). Same goes for any other sounds

Go, GO GO!!

I say we use the Fluffy Towels soundtrack.

Actually seriously, picking a soundtrack is a toughie. I loved the music for the advert for the Sarah Connor Chronicles on Virgin 1 in the UK, if anyone's heard it - it was used by someone on youtube for a cool Dominion War battle compilation. Not sure what it is, but if it was playing mid game, that would get my Klingon Battle Blood Boiling for sure.

Music is hard. "I learn it, frrrrom a book!"

True, but it was also a punchline in Fawlty Towers =)

Oh yeah, I remember that compilation. The music is very fitting  :D
I know I would love to hear that as the Dominion  :sweatdrop:

No problem  B) Are you looking for a specific style of music?
Hmmm, I don't recall hearing it in LotR...

I think the song that you are referring to is called Requiem for a Dream, and it comes directly from the movie Requiem for a Dream, its what won the movie so many awards when it came out

ah, right, thats the one. yea, i think it is used too much and i think also too "strong" as a dominion background soundtrack

Hmm, I think the Instrumental version of "The Poet and the Pendulum" by Nightwish would suit them well, but only the first 80 seconds. Not really long enough, I think.

Hey, maybe Im missing something, but can't we just use music from the show that accompanies the dominion scenes?  There must be some kind of theme to all of them.

Just thought of something else... would it be possible to put in more music for each race (or maybe a jukebox, so that we can add our own)? As it is now, I usually put on my own music as it quickly becomes boring to hear the same 1 minute loop over and over...  :whistling:
