Title: Time/spatal disortions.
Post by: ewm90 on March 14, 2008, 12:16:46 AM
I would Like to have some anomalys. This mite include

A setion in space wich moves faster or slower then others, A section in space that dose movements backwords and flips the ship upside down- this would make navagating this area very hare becose the ship dose the opposite of what you ask.

A nother idea for a new nebula is to have one that asorbes weponds fire and perodicaly releses discharges andships that are cloked that try to pass thow have thare cloke disabuled and thare sheald will not work for 10 secs.

Yup, maybe sup ripple effects and weird (phantom) ships coming out and attacking. That would be awesome indeed  :shifty:

i would usually half of those ides aren't possible but with fleetops you never know... but i do know Doca makes new classlabels by takign current ones and recreating them and modifying them slightly...

i believe you have have the slow down and speed up nebula as there is already a classlabel they could adapt for that... i don't believe the upside down thing would be possibly and personally i just think thats a silly idea and something that has never happened in trek plus its not exactly loosing control of your ship which a nebula would usually cause...

the no weapon one could be doing modifying an already existing ion storm neb combined with another nebula but merged into one label... the cloak thing just sounds silly...

Random events would be nice. Like a sudden wormhole out of nowhere that pops up and holds for 10 seconds or so and leads you to another place on the map.
I would also love to see asteroids or even a comet flying through space from one edge of the map to the other.

if you go for the thing with damaging asteroids: it should drain the shields then do hull damage, IMHO as always.

That also happened in Star Wars: EaW. I REALLY liked that function. If you sent in any ships bigger than fighters, they would slowly get hurt/destroyed. I think it adds a reality, because if you ever sent in a ship as huge as a SD, or an SSD, there'd be NO way it could outmaneuver an asteroid field. Now, I don't know about Star Trek. Their ships are pretty intense in the shows...

Still, there should be a probability that asteroids do hit (perhaps the way one could design this is that a "mother" asteroid (read: torpedo station), either inivisible or visible, spawns "asteroids" (read: torpedoes) which have a percentage of missing or doing damage to ships that enter the fields. Whatcha think?  :D

i think anything larger than say a destroyer should take damage, the bigger the ship the more damage roid's do to it.
