if there is going to be a 2.6 patch could the widescreen support be added also a window mode (maybe a function in the shortcut like the /quick command and maybe a on/off toggle for team colours

Speaking of added features, I know this is a dead horse I'm beating...but higher resolutions?

lol I think that the only thing that would do is have the game need to stop changing the resolution. but other than that it would be considered a new mod I think :ermm:

custom resolutions are in the works. i have rewritten a lot of code since i first announced that feature. i'd really like to have it working 100% under all circumstances before rolling out that feature

it works fine so far, one issue is that armada is not able to show a long list of resolutions as the combobox expands out of the screen ;)

I think its safe to say that you could eliminate some of the lower resolutions...i.e. 640x480, 800x600 as i don't think anyone uses them anymore. I'm using 1440x900 on my monitor..and let me tell you..having to play the game in 1280x960 is starting to annoy me slightly...I mean the colors are good and everything..but damn...its just starting to get to me...

yes but doca if you increase the resonlution the the one on the bottom that you can see if you use that one you will be able to see the ones under it because your resolution is bigger  :D

Hmm, sounds great.

I work a lot with GUI's, and experiment with different layouts etc (atm working on an SFC-style one)... I hope that there will be support for other arrangements of the items?

I'd be really interested to get Armada II in widescreen, not really for a bigger res, actually for a smaller one.

Armada II on the Asus Eee PC :D

Does anyone have any suggestion or working methods for doing this?

apart from widescreen support can the patch also make it so that repair facilities can recharge special energy

also having a 6 image wireframe would b great (6th being a image of the ship that dsnt really do anything but the others cud b all 5 of the system icons)

that could get problematic, even with widescreen patch. armada 2 has a 800x600 fixed menu resolution while the eeepc only has 800x480. armada needs 800x600 minimum to display the menu correctly (otherwise it wouldn't be usuable anyway. so i fear that armada 2 on eeepc is impossible.

can't you add a scroll bar to the list?

i want to pull out beta versions of PP 1.2.6 after the FO v3 release, which will include upgrades to the replaceweapon (improved replacement engine, autocasting, ai-only-autocasting, warp-in, timed autocasting, better fighter deployment features and much much more), unlocked resolutions feature and what else you might request from FO v3...

Just a small question, but what do u mean by "autocasting"? Is that just the enemy using their special weapon? Or what is it, exactly?

that means for example that it 'fires' on a vessel creation. for example you could add a placeholder vessel with a replaceweapon as provided start unit where the replaceweapon feature is used to create a random vessel
