Title: Re: Final version Post by: DOCa Cola on August 10, 2007, 08:44:16 AM welcome to the forums, stobei. :)
are you using vista? Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - When will Fleet Operations v3 be released? (http://www.fleetops.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,3/topic,1977.0/) Title: Re: Final version Post by: Dr. Lazarus on August 10, 2007, 12:37:47 PM Hmmm.... wait!!! That sounds oddly familiar. :ermm: I've heard this Borg.wav issue thing before. Vista be damned!!!! >:( F.C.U.K. Microsoft.
Title: Re: Final version Post by: TanEdos on August 10, 2007, 03:04:18 PM yeah that's the decoder issue i've had as well. can't get passed the borg.wav then the federation.wav, after clicking {ok} for about 2-600 times! I think it installed haven't tested it yet, but I'm also going to install it on my old XP machine and see what happens.
Title: Re: Final version Post by: stobei on August 10, 2007, 03:23:38 PM so basically i have to wait there is no way to get around it and play??
Title: Re: Final version Post by: Dominus_Noctis on August 10, 2007, 11:46:50 PM Yeah I am really SUPER Pisse--I mean PEEVED :sweatdrop: about this freaking problem. If nobody can find a way to resolve this there will be no way that I can play on my laptop... which will be my only computer in 4 days!
Does anyone have ANY ideas---really I mean any; I'm that desperate--on how I can get Flops to work on my vista machine? If so; could they run these ideas down for me? I have an xp machine with flops installed; so if that offers any key.... Thanks, dom Title: Re: Final version Post by: Cpt Ryan on August 12, 2007, 10:24:07 AM the only way I know of Flops working on a Vista machine (as of V3pr) is for the user to install first to an XP machine first then copy over to the vista one, or an XP partion or virtual machine I hear works as well.
Its difficult to advise since I held off of getting Vista, and by the looks of things I shall continue to do so. Title: Re: Final version Post by: The Old Man on August 12, 2007, 10:35:19 AM If you've already tried to install FO as administrator and if you have also tried to disable UAC and it still doesn't work, I have to admit I ran out of ideas.
Is there no way for you to get XP on your notebook? You will have more fun with your laptop without Vista, believe me, I tried it. Vista incredibly slows down your machine. XP is faster and 100% FO-compatible ;) Title: Re: Final version Post by: Azildin on March 04, 2008, 10:36:55 PM Vista only slows down old equipment but stuff that is designed specifically to work with it, it works supurbly fast. Saying "go back to XP" wont solve the problem since XP has been phased out and Vista will be it. Just like everyone refused to upgrade from 95 or god forbid ME to XP. One way or another everyone will conform. I think the borg said it best.
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile." Title: Re: Final version Post by: Meredith on March 05, 2008, 12:53:24 AM ok I would like to inform all of you I have got flops to work and I have installed it coppied the files to vista and it works then I ziped it and uploaded it for all of you that dont keep your xp cds. but so I dont get yelled at by every one on the planet if you send me a PM telling me you want it I will give it to you. what needs to be in the PM first telling me why you cant get an xp computer (if you are to lazy I might think about it) and second I need a picture of you holding up your A2 cd next to your pc screen, on the screen I want you to have IE or fire fox or what ever you use and have it set to you profile on flops here is an example of a picture, http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb67/eluvatar/P1030095.jpg (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb67/eluvatar/P1030095.jpg) try and leave the picture as high a quality as you can cause I would like to be able to see your user name in the pic and guys I ask you once I give you the link dont give it to your friends ok!
