Post by: ewm90 on September 27, 2006, 04:22:19 PM
This is information I have ben waching and have fownd some scarry facts......

Yello Stone National Park Located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho is the bigest supper volcano on earth. Its last eruption was 600,400 years ago wich put the earth in to a Ice age wich lasted along long time cosing mass exstions of humans and anmials chaging earth forever.

A normal vacano

A supper valcano
(http://www.unmuseum.org/ynpmap.jpg)

The sarry part is that the supper valcone is on a 600,000 cycle. The earth arownd the yello stones geround is buckling some of the paths in yello stone are getting so hot peoples shouse melt on tham so thay had to close tham. thare have ben alot of land sides costed by subteranin evints threading longes and visater cinters.

Peaple neer yelos stone lest say swith in 3 states will bearth in glass and rocks that will cut up thare lungs the dust thay bearth in will cose the blud in thare lungs to hardin like sument suficating tham.

So much for global worming. Thare are biger threats.

Have a nice day  :o .

how about we let nature takes it course while we deal with the... americans ! yeh, who seem to think its their sworn duty to protect us with nukes, NOW THERES AN IDEA! lets all have nukes! but O NO :< we cant ALL Have nukes, only the Americans can, because somehow theyre more trustworthy than every other nation.

Am i grumpy?

EDIT: interesting topic, tbh i wouldnt be all that fussed if the potential volcano thats probably under my house decided to erupt and kill me, but then again... the way you talk about life there seems to be so much TRYING to kill us that a volcano just doesnt feel special enough, we should all be different and get killed by different things.

I heared about this some time ago, this is not new news at all. The thing is they simply dont know when or why would that vulcano errupt.
What I do know is, if you worry about everything thats threatening u, u should just kill yourself now and get it over with. Cause at this time the threats that threaten are us are  all very deadly and very unpredictable.
My advice to you: Dont worry, be happy ;)

well upon reading the first post in this thread i have come to the conclusion that:

America is screwed... but the rest of the world can breathe easy :D .

then i read your other posts and it condemns us all. Bloody yanks throwing their hot air at everyone else... seems nothing seems to change. :P

Somebody get me a gun, i think i'll just save time and do myself...

Ewm just relaxe yourself. If it happens, then it happens. It isnt like anyone can actually do anything about it so just be cool.

i saw the documentary, it was stated that globaly the climate will be 5degrees centigrate colder, except for USA which will be affected by as much as 10 degrees, this little incident is to last about 2-5 years, and after the disaster it will get colder over a period of one year, giving us (but not you) enough time to gather as much supplies as possible, becuse some crops won't handle the new climate, but there are many that will, and with planning, there shouldn't be any large impact in reagions close to the equator, prices will rise and we could be looking at an catastrophic inflation in less developed countries.
So the conclusion was, southern and central europe, as well as central and southern asia, shouldn't be effected by much, australia will problably be better of, as well as africa, but the situation in extreme north and south and the americas, will be severe.
Plus the heavy and deadly particles, the killers will only effect USA and partially Canada,  but they are too heavy to be spread far by wind and could never cross the Atlantic, so in my opinion, it will be rough yeah, but we'll be much much much better off than you.

And by the way, a long long long lasting ice age is actually, definitly up to 5 years, we can rough that even if there were 5m of snow in the middle of the ******* calahary deasert

Danger lurks in Yellowstone Park,
especially underneath the earth

By Jon Sarche
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Recent swarms of earthquakes and the development of several new thermal features in the past few years serve as a warning of the potentially life-threatening power of Yellowstone National Park.

Rick Hutchinson, a research geologist for the park, said scientists still do not have a full understanding of the awesome power of the geothermal features on the surface of and underneath the park.

Reflecting that, he said, is the formation of a new mud volcano near Astringent Creek, which flows into Pelican Creek northwest of Yellowstone Lake.

The Astringent Creek mudpot, which is ringed by a series of craters and fumaroles that spit sulfur-rich steam into the air, began forming before 1991, when geologists noted similar formations at the Mushpots site near Pelican Creek.

The Mushpots site, which began forming in 1985, consists of a large mud volcano that had enough energy several years ago to develop cabin-sized blobs of mud. It has since calmed down.

In the latest issue of the quarterly "Yellowstone Science," Hutchinson says that he predicted in 1993 that the newest super-heated fumarole at the Astringent Creek site would soon evolve into a large mud volcano.

He said that prediction had come true, with formation of a mud pot powerful enough to hurl large blobs of mud nearly 100 feet. The ground temperature in the area, once high enough to kill dozens of old, large pine trees, has peaked, but thermal features continue to evolve. Nearby craters and fumaroles are spreading toward the main mudpot.

"Hydrothermal outbreaks at the Mushpots (near Pelican Creek), Norris Geyser Basin and west of Astringent Creek are wake-up calls warning of future life-threatening geologic unrest in the Yellowstone region," Hutchinson wrote in the magazine.

He said in an interview last week that while such changes can be dangerous to humans and human development in the area, he didn't want to create a panic.

"All I'm trying to say -- and I think that all that other geologists are trying to say is -- `Don't become totally complacent like politicians do,'" he said. "People haven't been in the Yellowstone area that long, so we are only beginning to see how dynamic and how violent our natural forces here can be.

"And everywhere you look, there are all kinds of clues and evidence that very, very dangerous and violent things have happened in relatively recent times and there's nothing to allow a person to wish or assume that they won't happen again in the near future."

Hutchinson said he was lucky enough to be at the Mushpots site one early spring day to see huge blobs of mud bubbling to the surface.

"That in itself shook the ground so much that I could see full-size trees whipping back and forth," Hutchinson said.

He said some danger was presented by the new thermal features, along with recent swarms of earthquakes, including a spread of several days in July 1995 during which scientists recorded more than 2,000 small temblors.

"We're talking about smaller stuff, but the smaller stuff is certainly still much more powerful than anything the human race could create, and if you got a basketball or watermelon-sized rock headed your way, it could kill you just as good as a Mount St. Helens eruption."

The quakes were clustered near Mount Haynes, between Madison Junction and West Yellowstone, Mont. Hutchinson said Mount Haynes sits along the edge of a caldera left by a volcanic eruption about 600,000 years ago, and he said the quakes could have been caused by underground movements of magma or water.

"Everybody should simply be prepared for significant earthquakes that could damage or kill," he said.

"Always keep your eye over your shoulder when you're in a thermal area because there's no absolute guarantee that something won't happen that will create a report and paperwork for me."

I am a bit woryed be cuss we are not perparing for this life ending evint. We should be bilding shelter and resherching whays to cleen the are of valcanic ash. As the artical says pollations of all parttys will only focise on whats cleer and present danger not what could and will happin down the line.
