what is better to attack? the star base, mines or tech?

the starbase is big and expensive, but what does it do, it's a big turret, it does little damage, does not give your anything it just produces con and mine ships, however if you keep destroying his mines he can't make mine ships anyway. yeah ok it makes supply but thats costs dil and tri and it's back to the mines again.

mines if he can't mine he can't build. simple as.

tech it's one building and when destroyed it will cost thousends to replace, and if you get out a few ship yeards at the same time then it is HUGE kick in the balls.

if you know something i don't just say, your views are welcome on here.

Always hit Research then the Starbase cause thats the ultimate Kick in the balls think about it

Research Boom his defence ships are ****** and then hit the starbase so it costs 2000 Di just to get the ability to resupply :P

i say go for the research and tech stations 1st then the base, any ships left should go for the miners or construction ships to really cause maximum damage, a lot of players are going for the base with cloaked ships and wiping it out str8 away. me i'd prefer to retreat and let them build up again for another battle (thats a hint there baron! let me re build ya *******! hahaha)

I say that the starbase makes a nice big juicy target at any point in the game. But that the research doesnt become a better target til later. Since at around 2k Di, its a great target to hit  just for the 2k di cost, and it disables them from resupplying for the time being.

not exactly, when my starbase is being taken out i stock up on supplies while i still can so depends how much resources the guy has to how effective taking out the starbase is gonna be

I think it depends on the situation, knowcking out a mining colony that is soooo lonely and soooo far away makes fun as well. ^^

Going for the star base makes only sense when you can knock it out really fast.
So you have a mass of ships or good abillities ( Shield knock down of the feds)

Usually I shoot down what comes in my way ^^

I htink the only real point in taking out the Starbase is if you can take out his construction ships and this ship yard in the same swing. then he is basicly gone. though im a realy bad player so...lol

does anybody else think the sb should be a lot stronger???

Yeah of course it should be. IMO there should be 2 classes, a starbase - the one u get at the beginning and an outpost - which is a cheaper and a weaker version.
Seriously a starbase should be a lot stronger :)

taking out the SB is the first target cause 1, no supply 2, costs 2000 DI

yeah, it should be, since it's supposed to be your base of operation and we've all seen them take quite a pounding in the episodes and movies.

exactly it needs to be sorted out perhaps multi target phasers and high damage cause today when we did the test 3 torps from the klingon sb to take out a venture....

Yeah, it's funny to have about ten ships: (playing as Romulans) two or three of those really big ones that cost credits, four of those watchamacallits, the ones in Nemesis that everyone loves, and the rest as Cehlears (yes, I'm pathetic. I can only remember the Cehlear and it wasn't even canon) and go in expecting to die but kill a few stations...
Then I end up having to bring in my destroyers to finish off those last remaining miners and I just think... Well. That went well.

Swear to god, I've gone a 1v1 against a hard computer and not lost a single capital ship (Rommies versus Rommies, oddly enough). Yeah, I know, not a player versus, but still. It's not like they left the base completely undefended, it's just that I brough about five Cehlears and disabled all the turrets while destroyers took out the defense fleet and my capitals took out buildings.
