Patch 1 for Fleet Operations v3PR is now available with all known issues fixed. Thanks everyone for your error reports :)

To install, just run, follow setup instructions and ready you are.

Following fixes and changes were made:

Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug causing observer mode to crash
  • Fixed a bug that brought up confuse error messages (like not enough crew) if
     chosing the doubled-resource setting for play
  • Removed the volume light option because of multiplayer conflicts
  • Fixed invalid hotkey for the Federation Defence Platform
  • Missing screenshot folder is now created during install
  • Loader Armada execution aka. splash screen hang now fixed
  • Campaign selection menu won't generate a CTD anymore
  • Supply is no longer returned from decommission
  • Gamespy Arcade support restored by providing a fake armada2.exe file
     for gamespy
  • Fixed a bug causing the map "Homeworlds" to crash
Changes:
  • Adjusted the damage for weapons with very high reload times
  • Balance changes:
    Federation:
    • Starfleet Command
      Costs increased to 1400 Dilithium 700 Tritanium (bf: 1200 / 300)
    • Torpedo Platform (Admiral Mayson)
      Constructiontime increased to 70 seconds (bf: 60)
    • Descent Class
      Descent Class Quantum Torpedos do now deal the proper damage
    Dominion:
    • Battleship
      Is now correctly considered a large-sized vessel
    Klingon:
    • Slightly reduced the costs and Offensive Value of all Klingon Vessels
    • Field Yard
      Costs increased to 800 Dilithium 200 Tritanium (bf: 640 / 160)
    • Battle Yard
      Costs increased to 1120 Dilithium 280 Tritanium (bf: 800 / 200)
    • Imperial Yard
      Costs increased to 1440 Dilithium 360 Tritanium (bf: 960 / 240)
    Romulan
    • Cloaking Generator
      Constructiontime reduced as intended to 60 seconds (bf: 100)
    • Plasma Bolt special ability
      Is now correctly considered a torpedo and can miss its target
    • Norexan Class
      Increased the rate of fire for the Pulse Disruptors
    • Tavara Class
      Increased the rate of fire for the Pulse Disruptors

yeah i was just wondering has anyone had crash problems i installed the new patch and when i go to load up an instant action game it crashes on the loading screen

please help

did it work prior installing the patch for you, or is it a fresh install?

yes it did but ive found it now the problem appears to be with the war of hell 2 player map i havent tried all of the maps but from what i can see its just this one

yeah but if the poster's name is [=!=]redshirt, it probably wont be of much help lol  :P

anyway on topic, if it was working before then you probably shouldn't install the patch. if none of those symptoms (what the patch fixes) were a problem for you then it really wont do much good for you. everyones comp is different, so er yeah... you may not get the problems that others do. well im babbling now... so bottom line just keep it without the patch.
hey doca is their any known problems with compatibility between patched and unpatched versions?

btw only just noticed this... but is there gonna be a fix for the fact that the AI can build structures without constructing the structures that human players need to first?

Aye and the Dominion AI can construct ships without actually having the prototype first. Ive watched closely at what he does, in one yard he builds the prototype and in the other the actual ship :S

hurm....Crashes on start up for me, happend once before the patch and i thought the patch would fix it. also i whent to advanced settings to change the way the little logo that comes up for start comes up, i thought that mabe that was the problem, and i got hist with threee or fore errors at each screen.

Edit::
Relized this was no help with out error text.  first error,
cant find FOHook.exe
Clicked on advenced cant find   highres/RGB/hrset and foset
 Cant find what im looking for so i Go to change Use high res textures cant find FOHook.exe and hrset and fohook.exe
Fond what i was loking for, tels me i have a regristry problem. then it cant find FOHook.exe changes dindt hold, game crashes on start. thanks

these sounds like fleet operations beta 2 errors to me. have you installed Fleet Operations 3 PR and Patch 1 for 3PR or something else? :)
just install these two files:
FOSetup3PR.exe

Wow,

fantastic work again.
The graphics look like they are one generation ahead than Star Trek Legacy.

Ok, it is a prerelease.
So I donīt bother with some things, which are disturbing me.
Phaser beams to thick, sizes of the torps and some ships, unbalanced weapon and damage.
(The dominion bombers are firing faster than I can speak.)

But thatīs just my opinion and a matter of personal taste.
I will do as always and modify some odf to fit my needs ; )

This is actually the best-looking Star Trek Mod of all times.

Thank you for your hard efforts and giving us something to play with.
It seems Star Trek is outdated in the eyes of the industry.
So this is the last hope for our community.

BTW
Are there still some glitches in the AI of the Feds?
I never saw a Galaxy, Defiant or Sovereign built from it.
Maybe the buildlist has too many -1 inside, eating up the ressources.
(For the Non-modders, this means infinite rebuilds when a unit is lost)

ive just put the preview release on my bruvs comp(he doesnt have the net) and every time you load a game up the game jumps about and the sound is ditorted can anyone help

if its any good to you he has got a amd athlon xp2700+ 2.16 ghz with 448mb ram
also has a realtek alc 650 sound card

please help as i would like him to be able to enjoy this wonderful game

Ok, never/rarely posting on here but always watching the boards. Been one of those silent (and PATIENT) fans who have been content to sit back and wait for 3 and now i've seen the PR i know it was worth the wait, excellent job!

The wormhole idea is definately not feasable as Doca has said but how about a  BOTF/RoN mix? Forgive me if people have mentioned this before. Conquer the galaxy one sector at a time. I'd love to see wild cards of extra fleet's or starting with more resources. And you'd have every race against everyone else. Those who have played RoN know what i mean. Just a thought? maybe for FO5 or something  ;)

I am just curious to when the other four races will be released V3 PR is fun and a nice refit from a graphical stand point! It would however be nice to play against the borg! Awaiting for the next patch update!

things i would like to have for the final version of 3.0:

an offline manual;
display hitpoints in the tooltips;

an explanation why one map is called "It's hammer time"--> "This is not Warcraft in space" but it is 3D

i was just confused to the name, since its the signatur line of the dwarfen griffon rider(in WC3), when he spawns and because someone stated that he played to much WoW.  ;)

click on the "my controls" button at the top, scroll down and click on "edit avatar settings". add your pic from there. if that doesnt work then it may be that the pic your trying to add is either too big in actual size (no larger than 80 pixels by 80 pixels) or too big in file size (no larger than 20kb).

I know this is really really late.. but... this is the pre-release?!?! Man, I can't wait for the actual thing! The graphics are outstanding.. the explosions don't create lag spikes for me anymore, and you can really see the improvements in the shields. The Artificial Intelligence is actually somewhat-intelligent for once! The only thing i see wrong with the ai after playing it a little would be that they still send their own ships to their dooms by running them one by one into a blockade of mine.. heh. But really, this is outstanding.. good job guys  :D
