About visiting Germany, I might get some tickets to see some Ghana games but I dont know if they are really worth going to Germany :D But u never know...

England team is a good one indeed, BUT they have a crappy coach and seem to have a problem at big tournaments :S I simply dont see them as favorites to win the world cup. And Im saying that as a non-biased guy as my country isnt even in the world cup  :hmmm:  

i just dont see brazil winning as south american teams dont win in europe

germany's 1st match started with a spectacular goal and ended with a powerful shot from some german well outside the box, a great match in all it was 4-2 but in my opinion the host's played pretty ****, they were slow on the ball at times, they'll make the knockout stage but jsut how far they will go?

Germany wont go far, sure they won against Costa Rica but they are MUCH too volurnable at the back. One could say that so are Brazil but Brazil's attack is just WOW :D

This was a good match. Commentators after the game said that this wasn't all germany can offer. They played on low-skilled... vs lowbies   :P

If this is right they could do what noone expected...

The two goals from Costa Rica were just because defence counted on "Abseits" (<<--- I dunno the english word) and handled too slow. Both times the same mistake. they will analyse it and work it out well next times.

 

Abseit = off side I think. My German is, well, non-existant :D

They did score incredible goals though, Frings and Lahm  :o  

thats because of the balls, every world cup they make the balls lighter & lighter and you get 2/3 of the teams and players (particully keepers) complain about it.

I know, they do that so there will be more goals and make the game more entertaining. BUT u have to admit those were great shots regardless of the ball ;)


The England team really disappointed me today, they didnt create much at all and their only goal was very lucky indeed  :mellow:  They do have a great defence though and maybe attack will improve when Rooney returns. I think Crouch is crap and if he will continue playing in attack, you will again go home empty-handed  ;)

That doesnt mean anything really, out of the last 2 Slovenia games Novakovic has scored 100% of our goals. Now tell me, does that mean that he is THAT good?  ;)

I remember at the beginning of the season when Liverpool signed him, he was their 1st choice striker and yet got his first official goal after 4 months playing :S And even after that goal, he didnt bag them every game. Is that really a good choice striker in your opinion?
Tell me something else, how many quality crosses has Beckham put into opposition box in the Paraguay game? I think we can both agree that a lot :D And how many did he converted into goal? Yep thats right, none. I mean the guy is almost 2m tall, if he can score with his head what can he do then?

TO be honest england cant play in heat and it showed yesterday proof of this is that they consumed 70L of water during the match compared to a usual 20 so it does say alot

However all the other england games are now 17-00 and 20-00 kickoffs so they wont really have too much of a problem

ENgland will sort them selves out soon as rooney returns and they get used to playing with eachother and the defence is great

with crouch to be honest hes an O k striker but  i dont like him i would much rather have had someone like Andrew Johnson or Jemaine Defoe in his place too bad really

AS for OWen when he gets to the QUater finals thats where he will shine hes still no 100 % match fit and it showed so we just gotta wait and hope


As for the rest i was only really dissapointed with 2 players A . COle and F . Lampard

Lampard was just not influencial in the game and he didnt really shoot untill late in the game so i was quite dissapointed with him however i did really like Joe cole and David Beckham they both had great games

Well as I said b4, England does have a very strong squad. Their only weakness is their attack. But as u said, when Rooney returns they should manage themselves quite ok, but the question is if rooney is going to stay healthy and if he is going to find his form right away. I think Eriksson made a mistake by not bringing more experianced strikers to the world cup  ^_^  

apparently rooney will play in the last 20 min of the next match.

if he does i will smack erikson in the face im sorry rooney should not play till the sweeden match just to get him warmed up

they dont even need to win against trinidad to be honest ofcourse it would be nice but its not worth the risk if they wanna beat the next match

i reckon owen wasn't attacking too much in the paraguay match as not to risk himself to injury or something like that, crouch is good enough to play attack but he shines when he's partnering someone else, the match was played like a 4-4-1-1 with crouch up front, england mite have got more goals if owen was in front of that lanky robot!! i agree with 4 of 11 about rooney, no need to rush him out to play trinidad, the swedes are decent enough so i hope ericsson saves rooney for that match if he's needed
 

it was more like 4-5-1  :hmmm:  when england were in posession he often wandered all the way back to the half-way line instead of actually being up front like he was supposed to as the lone striker on the pitch -_-

Ronaldo thrives on couter-attacks, he is not so good in a game like yesterday when Brazil constantly pressurize the opponents. Thats why he is not so good at Real, their style of play does not suit him either. That is also the reason he was so good at Inter ;)



BTW: The team I am supporting this tournament, Spain, just gave Ukraine a lesson in football. IMO they were the most convincing team in the tournament thus far  ^_^

Deutschland uber Alles! england wont get very far, theyre playing so badly (mainly cuz of svens setup), and i can only recall one worldcup win for england. The german team is really motivated to win, I cant wait untill saturday. I also recall that that 5:1 result was BEFORE the 2002 world cup. Despite the critics(they say that this german team is the worst ever, lmao they said that last world cup) they are playing really well

what ******* game were you watching? :x  how in any sober state of mind can you say that Rooney intentionally stamped on the geezer? it wasn't even a stamp, he just stepped backwards, after being hauled down and sandwiched between 2 players. the Ref then only blew for a freekick, that was it. then Ronaldo being the great sport that he is proceeded to coax the ref into handing out a card (which is in itself a yellow card).

yeah a real great job ref, first half: how many "fouls" that hargreaves actually committed were actually fouls: about 1 or 2 at most. this is a contact sport.

carragher is not a good spot kick taker, plus Sven had both Downing and CARRICK (who actually used to take West Hams penalties) to choose from before bringing on Carragher for a player he actually used as a sub.

ALSO just to add to this... Isn't stuttering while taking a penalty kick, frowned on, and considered bad sportsmanship. (ref is supposed to order a retake) several of the portugal players did this, dam Ronaldo even done it twice in a single run-up.

It was intentional, he is known for this kind of **** and the ref saw it imediatly. That means its a straight red. And of course Ronaldo said to the ref he should do something about it, HE KICKED THE GUY IN THE BALLS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Also he didnt give him the red after Ronaldo said something, you just cant know that.


It is a contact sport but England play too much on contact, this is not rugby ;)

well i think it WAS an accident afterall, since he never took his eyes off the ball and you can clearly see when he steps on his "private parts" he's actually going for the ball(the football ball that is)

One can surely feel that his foot is between someones legs, it doesnt take a scientist to figure out what happens if you push then ;)

and i'm not disappointed in germany, despite being the worst german team ever(its true) they have kept germanys record of going to all semi-finals except on 3 occasions.
lol at least for consolation (unless henry scores 3 goals) Klose will win the Golden Boot (and even if Henry is gonna score Klose has the chance to score more in the 3rd place match)
