cool shame about the p2p I'm totally against it so I'll make a poiunt of not playing it.

inside of the starship looks good. but doesn't convince me to jump on oard to p2p. hallways of a starship isn't the first thing on my list of amazing graphics things to see in a new startrek game. :lol:  

i will NEVER jump on board p2p, regardless of how great a game is rumored to be, cos it is just extortionate. you buy the game, then have to pay extra for the privilidge of actually play the dam thing :mad:  :mad:  what ******* genius thought that up :x

well as annoying as p2p is with graphics like that I guess there has to be a cost. I mean the guys who are making this have to make a living out of it as that is not exactly something you can do in your free time.

only costs they have is maintaining the server

funny at £40 a game * 1 000 000 I would say that makes alot of money, enough to live of maintain servers and have enough to go down the pub not only get some drinks but by the pub...

the game wont cost £40 more like something like £10 or 15

and the cost to play will be something like what £5 Per month

to tell the truth considering the team will be working on the game for what something like the next 4 years the money is needed its not like an Rts where they make the game then **** off after 1month


they do actually work on the game for a long time and continue to release patches and stuff and the servers do cost a ***** to run its like city of heroes or WOW u cant expect them to maintain the game for such a long period of time without being paid it would be financially unsound

for many years to come

The problem with this game is it sounds like if you don't have lots of time to spend on it everyday you will get left behind everyone else and won't be able to catch up.

 

This is the real fact about mmorpgs.

After the disappointment that was Star Wars Galaxies, i'm approaching this game VERY cautiously.

I don't know, this seems a little bit of an odd twist for the whole star trek game genre. It doesn't need to fit. Star Trek really doesn't do well from the first person in my opinion, More so it does well as an RTS or TBSG. something with unison and complete command of a starship, MMO ehhh?

I disagree. This is the closest possibility so far that ppl can take part right in that world they ever dream of. There are so many fans around the world...i guess much people (trekkies) who never used their computers for playing will do that for STO. They just wanna make the experience in participating in that world. This is gonna be awesome!
