Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: [TD]Roach on January 28, 2006, 11:21:03 PM i was looking at some old ds9 episodes and as a technology that was never used again and was quite useless. it was in the episode where sisco caputrers the maquis leaader and ex cheif of security on ds9 micheal something (forgotton last name.)
but the defiant had somekind of holo net where when taklking to another ship. the captain of that ship is projected holographically on the ship and then can talk to him like in real person. i betr that it was never used in the war. imagine having another captain projected on teh bridge while being attacked. talked about distraction. Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Jan on February 02, 2006, 11:32:45 AM Using holos harms privacy. that doesn´t fit to the federation way of behavior. What would you think if someone strange would holo up in you room suddenly? I would ask him to leave because i was naked  .
Others used holos but they were always used in captains lounges or any other "private" establishments, never for official diplomatic acts. In "For the Uniform" maybe that was a try to come up with holos in ST but they quickly found out that it simply doesn´t fit to Star Trek. Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: RedShirt on February 02, 2006, 05:12:21 PM It belongs in Star Wars, and I think it should stay there.
Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Casper on February 02, 2006, 06:55:20 PM i second that
Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: bsquared on June 22, 2006, 04:12:06 PM Going back to what [TD]Roach about DS9:
There's was one tech that was used to stun or hurt those things that have palsma instead of blood, and it was only shown and used/tested in one episode. Even the continued episode of that didn't have that scanner thing used. If anyone knows what I'm talking about...I stil don't know what those things with plasma-blood transforming, etc. things are. Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Cpt Ryan on June 22, 2006, 04:26:28 PM episode title?

Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Casper on June 29, 2006, 09:20:36 AM does any one know what a self sealing stem bolt is, or what it's used for?
Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Tiberius on June 30, 2006, 01:39:26 AM It's a screw that screws itself in.
Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Intimid8er on June 30, 2006, 04:48:47 AM &nsbp; &nsbp; That holo technology was used in the DS9 episode where Dr. Zimmerman ( the guy who created the holographic doctor on Voyager) came to make another holographic doctor out of Bashir. They spoke to an admiral through that thing about some court issue. I think the title was "Dr. Bashir, I Presume?"
Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: hypercube on July 01, 2006, 10:59:31 PM Quote It's a screw that screws itself in. well now you'r just guessing ^_^ Title: The Most Useless Technology In Startrek Post by: Lumpybob on July 03, 2006, 05:12:43 AM it is a bolt, most likely for stems of some things, that seals itself
