As far as specials go, the Romulans ROCK.  How do you use use yours?

NOTE:  Mentally replace all mentions of "1 Tavara" with "2 Tavaras"

Those stations are soooo unbalanced it hurts. But that will change in v3 :P (I hope)

Well, I also had the wormhole blockaded, so that helped alot.  I would ordinaraly have attacked them head-on, but they were just too powerful...

Well, when they have 200 cubes swarming the map (and that isn't an exageration), what am I supposed to do, clear the wormhole and roll out the red carpet?  If my allies wern't sucking so bad, I might have stood a chance attacking head on, but as it happened, I didn't.

I stand firm at my point P u s s y :P

If they had so many ships u should have a few too, plus your supposed to be a bit smarter than the AI :D

atleast they didn't knock at his door all at once. 200 cubes, doesn't sound good.

Post by: RedShirt on January 16, 2006, 03:07:54 AM
Oh, they treid to.  If my allies wern't sucking so bad I might have tried a head-on assault, but theres no way in heck that I'm gonna go against 4 hard borg alone!

sound tactical decisions are hardly cowardly. personally i think it's more honorable to admit when you're out gunned, then to ignore it and die for no reason.

The point: He shouldnt have gotten in a position to be outgunned so badly.
So u can choose: Incompetent or a P u s s y ;)(Id rather choose  p u s s y if it were me) ;)

Oh, I "admit" that I was outgunned, but after my fleet got decimated, I was lucky that I managed to secure my base!

so i take it you choose incompetant lol ,j/k

anyway i try to stay away from the rommies cos they are too easy, the sabo's just own all.

Post by: RedShirt on January 17, 2006, 01:25:08 AM
I did manage to win after I used draednaughts to sneak into their bases.

Title: Romulan Specials
Post by: Casper on January 17, 2006, 08:58:23 AM
so shutdown their base then take the cubes down one-by-one, right?

With no hope of reinforcements, the cubes were easy prey.

The generix dreadgnought is very good as well. Though I really like the "bigger" guns of  the rommies ;)

Dreadnaughts are good for suprise attacks, but frigates are overall the Romulans best ship.

Try them out against cubes or some other battaleship ;)

I was able to hold off a Federation fleet of 40 or so ships with just a dozen frigates.

Yeah LITTLE ships. I said try it against battleships and cruisers too, like vorchas or akiras or spheres. They stand no chance and u cant convince me otherwise.

15 of those "little ships" were Sovreigns.

Comming at you one at the time no doubt  ;)

Look this is against AI, go and play vs a real player and he'll blow those frigates out of the sky in a sec. They are only good against little ships and against ships with pulse weapons, THAT is a FACT.

Noooo, that will be in v3, which hasn't been released yet.  Right now, they're good against just about anything.

And no, the Sovreigns came 5 at a time.

This Generix variant is a very efficient way to get rid of smaller vessels like destroyers or cruisers. Its shildbreaking weaponry is even a threat for large vessels or stations.

From the info page and this is for BETA 2. And of course its a threat for big stations it costs a lot too. But primarily its a small ship killer :P

About the sovies. I know how AI does things so dont tell me how they came. All Im saying is that it would end differently if it was against a live opponent :)

Title: Romulan Specials
Post by: RedShirt on January 23, 2006, 04:15:26 PM
Obviously.  If it was a live opponent, I wouldn't have sent them out there in the first place.   :P

Well then dont tell me how many ships u killed. Against AI it doesnt even count :P

I always ****** kill 500 of their ships so no big deal :S

Only 500?  Download my new map, and I betcha you'll kill more than that.  ;)

LoL I stopped playing alone vs AIs, me and hypercube now usually play either 1vs1 or vs loads of AIs :D

Title: Romulan Specials

It would still work with 2v4, or even 2v6, which is real challenge.
